Randy Gregory

Right now I honestly think it's a 50/50 deal with Gregory. The fact he could have applied for reinstatement Nov 2 but apparently chose not to, raises some concern, at to me. I'm not suggesting he relapsed or failed another test coz I don't know, but I would have thought being away from the game for a year, he'd be sitting at the door waiting for the first chance to re-enter. Maybe his condition of Bi-polar has something to do with it........ either I hope the best for the kid with or without Cowboys.
He has passed every drug test since his suspension. I thought he has applied for reinstatement already and was waiting a decision

Makes a lot of sense and I agree...however, people on here won't like it. Expect him to be tore down.

Let's see...players to be candidates for the off season whipping boy...some on the list are ongoing.

Dez Bryant
Randy Gregory
Jaylon Smith
Zeke Elliot (for maturity type stuff)
T. Williams (for nothing better than a body catch)
Chaz Green (though a bit warranted)
A. Hitchens (though not warranted)
Taco Charlton (just because, well, that is just some of the fans and their whining)
B. Mayowa (possibly warranted too
Jeff Heath (typical stuff here too, though a bit warranted at times)
O. Scandrick (see J. Heath)
Good stuff bro :thumbup::flagwave:

You forgot
  • Byron Jones ( for rotating snaps and general suckiness)
  • Anthony Brown ( for his regression)
  • Rico Gathers ( for his concussions and or lack of football skilll to push for snaps)
  • Jason Witten ( for his old age and general slowness)
  • T Crawford ( for his play not up to his pay)
  • M Collins ( took a step back)

Why is Gregory a special case? Sure it doesn’t hurt to keep him around technically, but why show him loyalty when he hasn’t show the team any by completely disregarding everything? And I’m saying that not as a stike against smoking pot, but just that he seems to be given every chance in the world by Jerry. Does everyone on this team have seven or eight chances?

He's had 7 chances with Jerry? I dont follow him closely but that seems a bit exaggerated?

Forget for a second we are talking about Randy Gregory. Any player 3 years in a row out of football. How many players can overcome that and have even an average career? OK now add in that we are talking about Gregory and his personal issues, it's impossible for me to ever see him as a contributing player of the Dallas Cowboys.

It would basically have to be the biggest comeback story in NFL history for him to go from a lifelong troubled player who missed his first 3 years to go on to have an excellent career. Not likely to happen from a guy with psychological problems and questionable character. Far more likely to happen from a guy like Jaylon Smith with high character and work ethic.

It sucks too because he showed immediately why he was worth the pick.

I would give them something significant on the condition that he has to stay clean for two years.

He'll be wasted in Cleveland and by the time they might be better in 2 years, he'll be a free agent.

He'd be wasted here too.

Why would the browns agree to any deal that still makes his sobriety their problem?

Agreed. I really don't think he has a questionable character...just a troubled man. I really want to see him beat the odds and become a good Cowboy. Too bad the league can't adjust its poor thinking regarding medicinal pot. Its a human disaster for players like Gregory and others.
