Their team is looking pretty shabby right now. Their defense is beyond suspect, their offensive line isn't quite what it was. They don't have a proven RB, and finally Welker is their only real receiving threat right now.

Randy Moss still has game. (and a lot of it)

Right now, I doubt the Patriots make the playoffs. They are (and have been) in a downward spiral of late. It will continue this season. With the trade of Randy Moss, they have officially entered the rebuilding phase. I hope Brady realizes, he just signed away any chance at another championship when he signed that new contract.

Lets not to mention they been old at LB the last few years unable to replace what they lost

You may be right, though they are still 3-1 and "tied" for first in their division so that makes that point a little hard to believe, although it is surely a solid opinion that they have last a step these past couple of years. None the less, even if your point is accurate and they are rebuilding, its going to be a short rebuilding period with that many draft picks in the upcoming draft, odds are with you when you are that prepared and have that many picks.

Wow, all that picking, that finger is going to be sticky.

Minnesota Vikings acquired WR Randy Moss from the New England Patriots in exchange for a 2011 third-round pick.

Moss will head to Minnesota without a long-term deal. It's anyones guess as to how much Moss has left in the tank, as it's been awhile before anyone has seen him give 100%. The Patriots now have an additional pick in each of the first four rounds of the 2011 NFL Draft, and are primed to add even more talent to their roster.

Gawd I love the way New England/Belichick runs that organization/team.

Trade a 4th for Moss, have him play for several years at a high level and then trade him for a 3rd when he is several years older...unreal...I look forward to seeing how Belichick does when Brady is gone (he'll probably get traded for two #1's vs retiring as a Pat)

All the people on this board gnashed their teeth and went freakin bonkers when we did like the patriots and cut the old Vet Flo and traded Crayton for a pick.

:lmao::lmao:

I swear sometimes people on this board have Jekyll and Hyde personalities

Are you putting me in this category?

If so, you're mistaken because I love the Crayton/Flozell type moves as well as a few other things I'm noticing around the ranch.

We could do the same thing if we traded down out of the first every other year to add picks. The Pats last 6 1st round picks look like this:

2010 - Devin Mcourty
2009 - No selection
2008 - Jerod Mayo
2007 - Brandon Meriweather
2006 - Laurence Maroney
2005 - Logan Mankins

Ours look like this:

2010 - Dez Bryant
2009 - No selection
2008 - Mike Jenkins, Felix Jones
2007 - Anthony Spencer
2006 - Bobby Carpenter
2005 - Demarcus Ware, Marcus Spears

Yeah, they're so much better at this than us. :lmao2:

We have just as much talent as they do, if not more, but they handle all the "little" things and geez...its a real shame we don't have what they have at the management level or else we would be set for years.

While I dont like how Jerry does many things. You cannot argue that the roster is chock full of talent, draft picks, undrafted and FA signings.

On a side note, how do you guys think that this Moss deal might (or might not) impact any potential deal for Logan Mankins (be it the Cowboys or anyone else)?

That idea still has me intrigued.

Moss can do what only five players have done in NFL history

Randy Moss will have the opportunity to do what only five other players have done in NFL history, play in 17 regular season games.

The others are:

Chris Singleton, Patriots & Dolphins in 1993
Dexter Carter, Jets & 49ers in 1995
Jerry Rice, Raiders &Seahawks in 2004
Micah Ross, Chargers & Panthers in 2004
Will Witherspoon, Rams & Eagles in 2009

and only the second to play in two Monday night games in a row.

Argue if you want. But any reasonable person is going to agree the Patriots are managed better and are more consistently put in a better position to be successful by said management than we are.

Ours is not terrible, there are for sure worse in the league, but ours does not compare with the pats.

I'd also remind you Brady was found a similar way as Romo, as was Welker, I believe, so I would not hang my hat on that too much, and how long are you going to sit back and rely on that old argument, need to do a lot more than that to be considered with the best in the league.

Hold on a minute. Welker played 3 seasons with the Dolphins and was becoming a rising star with them before being traded to the Patriots for a 2nd and 7th round pick. I wouldn't exactly pat the Patriots on the back for "finding" Welker the way they found Brady and we found Romo and Miles.

Sorry but you can't use that as an argument as to why the Patriot's management is better than the Cowboy's management

No I was talking about how a lot of people say what you did but when it happens panic. It was not directed at you but a general observation of what has been posted for years why do we not do like the patriots and when we did we got all the teeth gnashing. :)

We saw this over TO as well.

So not directed at you

Duly noted, hopefully we'll continue on a positive path as an organization and team.

Receiver Randy Moss and New England Patriots quarterbacks coach Bill O'Brien were involved in a heated exchange at halftime of the team's victory Monday over the Miami Dolphins, according to player sources.

The locker-room exchange, described as an "outburst" by one player, came two days before the Patriots traded Moss to the Minnesota Vikings for a 2011 third-round draft choice, and could have contributed to the team's decision to make the deal.

The Patriots trailed 7-6 at halftime of the game, and Moss had just one pass thrown in his direction up to that point. He finished without a reception and wasn't thrown to in the second half.

On Wednesday, Patriots coach Bill Belichick said in a statement that he has had discussions during the "past several months" with Moss and his representatives about Moss' "place on our team and his future in football."

Have no fear, Favre has still got to throw it to him.

Moss will be mooning Farve before it's over.

Smells like a championship for Minny...

10 catches, 186 yards and 2 scores against the Boys?

That's about what Moss usually does to Dallas.

The Dolphins stupidly traded Welker to the Patriots and Brady was a Draft pick.

For all of their proper management they aren't any better off right now than other teams. They've ignored age at LB and are paying for it. They've lost players like Asante Samuel who clearly was a difference maker for them. They can't keep Randy Moss happy with a Tom Brady at QB.

Every team faces challenges and handles them differently. Having a lot of draft picks just means they need to draft well. They miss there like any other team.
