Randy Orton

If he was that good he'd be in the WWE.

There's no "being good" in wrestling.

It's all about how much excitement you would bring to the ring.

AJ Styles would definitely bring some excitement.

Great Khali isn't good. In fact, he's likely one of the most uncoordinated and ridiculous looking people I have ever seen.

Better? :laugh2:

Orton is a great wrestler, is he a great "villian"? Not at all these days, a villian is there to get the "babyface" over and get the crowd on his side. When you are trying to be the "cool" villian that gets cheered, you run the babyface into a real tough spot to be in. Now that Orton is a "good guy" so to speak, things will work out ok.
Orton's dad knew how to be a "villian" and a legit tough guy. Seeing Bob Orton and Dick Slater work over Ricky Steamboat was a thing of beauty!

I was on the TNA boat only for the fact that WWE is TERRIBLE for true wrestling fans, but I can only stomach TNA so long. Now I have resorted to watching well run indies and their online shows. They are far more entertaining! When you get a chance, go to www.vimeo.com and type in NWA Fusion Meltdown into the search feature and watch some episodes of some old school style wrestling!

This is where other threads on the topic of wrestling have been posted. Just like soccer.
When soccer's main "league" has the word "entertainment" in it, then you might have a point.

I'm not saying Orton is a rue villain now. Much like the Road Warriors though he is popular despite being kind of closer to evil or dangerous.

Cena was a decent villain when he was the Dr. of thuganomics, but he was so good on the mic that they made him a face and he is stuck there. Orton isn't. He can easily go back to pure villain by simply turning on and destroying Cena at some point.

I like Orton's villain side. Same with Jericho. I don't want to see him as a face. Too entertaining as a villain.

Don't you watch Californication?

You obviously can't be making a point here concerning pretend wrestling with that comment.

btw, I generally DO NOT watch much TV other than documentaries, sports, and news. Only recently have I really paid any attention to the pay channel weekly shows at all. (this has been well documented in my posts here at CZ)

I watched the pretend wrestling for short time as a kid. (Back with Buggy Mcgraw, the Von Erichs, Rick Flare, the Great Kabuki, and those idiots from Georgia The Fabulous Freebirds.

By the time I turned 10 I figured out how stupid and absolutely lame it was and left it behind forever. ;) It's trash TV, (like reality shows) all it does is cause atrophy the mind. One thing is clear, It damn sure doesn't make you smarter and most likely dumbs you down just by watching it. :D

;)

Pro wrestling is either a "love it or hate it" enterprise. I've always watched since I was a kid and I remember the old timers and I still watch today. I know it's all staged but I still like it. If others don't oh well. I just think it's fun.

Its ok if you enjoy watching 50 year old Mulder from X-files hump 18 year old girls ....

I will continue to watch "trashy" wrestling.

Like it or not, professional wrestling when done right is an artform. Its takes a higher threshold of pain and a touch of masochism. Its makes money and that pretty much says it all.

Most fun wrestler in the game to watch when he is on. His talent is just sick. Great drop kicks. He gets higher than anyone and that classic move looks lethal like old days wrestling.

His spinning power slam is his most impressive move. He catches an opponent off the ropes and whips around so fast it is just awesome. The impact is thunderous.

Good villain. I like that. He's border line a fan favorite, but I hope they keep him a little dangerous. Good nickname as the Viper too.

Just an all around good wrestler.

Yep. He's one of the best in the business right now. He's one of the very few reasons to even bother watching wrestling these days.

Watch TNA and you'll never want to watch that WWE garbage ever again.

Orton is a ****** though.

LOL. No.

There is absolutely ZERO reason to watch TNA. It's awful.

If TNA was the last wrestling left I'd never watch another minute, ever. It's the worst garbage wrestling I've ever seen. The only thing even remotely close to it was WCW in its final couple of years.

AJ Styles is.

LOL!

Again, no.

The guy has never been, and never will be, the best wrestler in the business. He's a good, very solid, performer but he's nowhere near the best, and he never will be.
