No, Austin is better than Fitzgerald, and if you don't see it you will see it soon enough, have some team pride man.

ELITE Potential.

Wes Welker is far from elite. He is an overachiever.

Calvin Johnson, Andre Johson, Larry Fitzgerald, Randy Moss all ELITE.

Miles and Ogletree are not even close. Fact.

Welker (overacheiver) has "acheived" more than Johnson (elite?), so I'll take Welker.

Afer all, what does it matter if you are overacheiving as long as you are acheiving? Results matter more than perceived potential don't they?

So only first round selections = Elite?

Tom Brady would like to have words with you.

Didn't say it had to be.

The topic was over "Elite Potential" of our WR's.

Traditionally, elite potential is drafted in round one. No matter how the homers try to twist that logic around.

To say our UDFA Wr's have "elite" potential is ridiculous. You can come into your own as a player over time with work ethic and system/qb's but you are an overacheiver.

With that said, it doesn't mean that Charlie Rogers, Mike Williams, Matt Jones, Reggie Williams arent a dime a dozen.

Would Wes Welker produce the same numbers had he stayed with Joey Harrington in Miami?

Tom Brady would make me look good. Well probably not.... but still.

Ok, so if we had fitzgerald we won yesterday with more dominance, but we still are 4-6, not a fair trade to me.
Look if we had an off-the-charts talent like Fitz, we may very well be 9-1 (or slight-chanceeven 10-0) right now.

Two of the three losses were decided by one or two plays either way and the third loss had a 6-0 score going into the 4th and included several drops. We have no one remotely as good as Fitz, but I do like Miles' potential to become consistently (over 3-4 year stretch) very good.

You can't say I didn't warn you.

Drew Pearson
Raymond Berry
Don Maynard
Rod Smith
Troy Brown
Wayne Chrebet
Keenan McCardell
Mark Clayton
Dwight Clark
Drew Hill

All either undrafted or drafted in rounds later than our current 7 round drafts.

You can white wash the overachiever stuff and ignore the results Miles is putting up but it isn't smart.

No charge for the education.

Results do matter the most you are right. Welker looks good with Brady. Just like Witten looks good with Romo. The have chemistry.

But you think ANY GM in the NFL would take Welker at any age over a Johnson?

I can't say that Austin is All Pro yet, he's on pace for 1,000 yards but hey come on now... And I'm a fan of the guy.

Yes, but the pace was set primarily on 2 games out of 10. The other 8 games he was no better than average.

Me too.

He hardly played early on and then had a couple of world-class games. Now teams have adjusted and it's up to the coaching staff and him to counter those adjustments. His upside looks great, but we'll see down the road.

Who's said he's the 2nd coming of anything; merely pointing out that he looks like an explosive player - hasn't had much of a chance to do anything yet.

Roy's had plenty of chances to do something and he looks anything but explosive thus far. His ribs may be holding him back, but he does look scared. And his first down move looks ********!

And, it's "bubble", not bobble - kind of what Roy's been doing...

I love grammar ***** on message boards

Austin > Fitz? ***? Not at all..

Austin is the best WR on this team.. yes

Then Roy Williams
then Crayton
then Hurd
Then Otree.

Far as potential Goes? it pretty much stays the same
Austin > Williams > Crayton > Otree > Hurd

Otree has shown us.. next to nothing, why is he so anointed? I'd love to see the get some more shots.. but holy **** how is he suddenly one of the best WR's on our team?

Who has the most talent (how good they currently are) and who has the most potential, i'll start :D

Talent:
Miles Austin *
Patrick Crayton
Kevin Ogletree
Roy Williams
Sam Hurd
Manuel Johnson
Jesse Holley

Potential:
Miles Austin **
Kevin Ogletree *
Patrick Crayton
Roy Williams
Jesse Holley
Sam Hurd
Manuel Johnson

*= Elite
**= All Pro-Status

Ogletree does not belong #2 or #3 on either list. He has "potential". He runs one type of play so far and KO returns. I hope he can be great. But I think this thread will turn into another RW hate thread.
I wouldn't put Holley ahead of Hurd on Potential. Not just yet, need to see much more next year from him.

This looks much more like it. Even though I would put Hurd over Ogletree, just based on experience. I do think if it comes down to it next year, Ogletree stays over Hurd, based on when Hurds contract is up. Which I'm not sure when it is.

This is his last year.
