Looking across the 8 NFL playoff teams across the NFC / AFC how would you rank the Cowboys WR corp? I'd put them at 10 of 14 (ahead of the Giants, Titans, Jets and Ravens).

This is one of my biggest concerns heading into the playoffs considering opposing teams might sell out against the run and double Lamb.

Where do you have them? Any concerns?

I'd say that's a pretty accurate assessment. Not sure where WR play ranks in terms of relevance to playoff success though. QB, line play, and turnovers seems to be the most important factors in playoff success.

Cowboys have been running a lot of 2 and 3 TE sets and using the pass to Schults, Fergason and Hendershot more so than running 3 WR sets. As for the WR Lamb is having a good season and Gallup is slowly making progress.

Yea, ideally we continue to have great running success and can play small ball but we haven’t been battle tested yet and really had to throw a lot.

It’s not a problem until it’s a problem…which is usually in the playoffs where warts are magnified.

Looking back the last few years the Rams, Bucs and Chiefs all had WR corp MUCH. enter than what we currently have.

Better than Raven and Jets too, just off top of my head

I'd say of the 14, our
  • D will be 3rd or 4th best
  • Oline will be also be 3rd or 4th best
  • RB tandem 5th or 6th best (maybe better?)
  • WR/TE group 8th or 9th?

We need to rank the QBs decision making among the teams[/QUOTE

some people thought Dak Prescott was holding onto the ball too long. Like throw the football. And now it does it and it gets intercepted for whatever reason and now they ***** about that. His decision making is as good as anybody out there and so is the rest of his talents. Did you see Mahomes choke the game away Sunday. The guy that supposed to have six rings by now.

I'm not sure the Cowboys are as low on this list as many will think.

Of the teams in right now I would put the Cowboys ahead of Baltimore, Tennessee, both NY teams, and probably Kansas City (Unless we are factoring in TEs to the equation). While I would give these teams the edge I'm not sure that they are that far behind SF, Seattle, and even Buffalo either.

Lamb has done nothing but get better all year and I don't think its crazy to debate him as a top 10 wr right now. Gallup seems to be getting closer to 100% after a disaster of a start to the season. Brown I still like more as a 4th receiver than a 3, but with how often this team plays 2TE sets he basically functions as a 4.

KC is an easy yes for me. Kelce is basically a WR, and while they don’t have anyone as good as Lamb, their group as a whole is much better IMO.
SF, Sea and Buffalo are easy yes’ for me too.

MG just isn’t the same dude. He’s clearly lost a step and he’s struggling to get separation. Almost every catch is congested with a DB in his back pocket and he’s basically a 1 trick pony for go routes now. If he was the guy he used to be I’d have the Cowboys higher.

Doubling Lamb and stacking the box means that Gallup and any other WR/TE on the field is one on one with no deep help. That's what a QB should be hoping to catch a team in, not fearing.

I would include pass catchers as a group, so WR/TE (that helps 49ers, Chiefs, and Ravens...but not enough for Ravens or maybe even Chiefs)
so Lamb, Gallop, Shultz et al, Brown, and Washington finally suits up

I think our WR/TE group is at least better than
Titans, Ravens, Giants, Commanders (if they get in), Jets, Chiefs (but maybe not w/ TE Kelsy )

Yea, I agree just don’t think Commanders get in. So we both have them around the 10/14 range.
