We've got the best combination of skill players of everyone.

Give me someonw better.
Not many! Good point

Vikings (WRs Jefferson, Theilen, Osborn, TE Hockenson, RBs Cook and Mattison)

49ers (WRs Samuel, Aiyuk, Jennings, TE Kittle, RBs McCaffery, Mitchell)

and we have a way better Oline than the Vikings

Doubling Lamb and stacking the box means that Gallup and any other WR/TE on the field is one on one with no deep help. That's what a QB should be hoping to catch a team in, not fearing.

Correct. My problem is MG doesn’t look like the player he used to be. Every 1:1 he gets he’s having trouble creating any separation.

I don’t have a lot of confident in him, or any other WR not named Lamb, being able to consistently get open on 3rd and 5 of Lamb is doubled and we really need it.

It really doesn't matter where you rank in one category. It's about how your entire offense stacks up against the other teams. Who has the best combination of WRs, TEs, RBs, OLine, QB, and offensive play calling. Also, it doesn't matter how we stack up against all 12 teams. If we go all the way to the Superbowl then you are only facing 1 of the AFC teams and a max of 3 of the NFC teams. We have plenty of skilled position players to get the job done. It all comes down to execution on the field and proper play calling. We can't have stupid penalties that get us behind the chains. We can't have errant throws that end up getting intercepted. We can't have WRs not reading the play correctly and causing interceptions. We can't have Moore calling stupid out of the box plays that lose yardage. We have to stay committed to a balanced offense.

Yea, I agree just don’t think Commanders get in. So we both have them around the 10/14 range.
As Pass2Run pointed out though, our entire skill position group (WR/TE/RB) are near the top

I'd say Vikings and 49ers have a better overall group, but that might be it given injuries, etc
Throw in the oline and we are pretty stacked

Maybe, but that’s a completely different discussion and topic.

If this team falls short of expectations, it won't be because of a lack of talent in the WR room. They're good enough and getting better as CeeDee develops before our eyes.

We have areas of bigger concern.

Gallop finally rounding into form too and maybe Washington gets reps going forward

Man I’d strongly disagree. I’d consider our WR group one of the biggest weaknesses on the team. One of my biggest concerns in the playoffs is us not being to throw the ball well enough if it’s required.

Earlier in the season I'd have said they're not that good.
I think they've improved since.
I like what CeeDee does after the catch, but you have to catch the ball first. And he's done that. Has he dropped a pass since the obvious one early in the season?

Yea, Lamb is a stud. I’ve never been worried about him.

Problem is, when you only have 1 it’s easier to take them out of the game when you play good teams. I just have very little confidence in someone else stepping up when we have to have it.

I might have agreed earlier in the season. CeeDee is looking more and more like a beast. If you have that guy it makes everyone's life easier. We may have issues passing when we need to, but I don't think it will be because we can't get guys open.

Looking across the 8 NFL playoff teams across the NFC / AFC how would you rank the Cowboys WR corp? I'd put them at 10 of 14 (ahead of the Giants, Titans, Jets and Ravens).

This is one of my biggest concerns heading into the playoffs considering opposing teams might sell out against the run and double Lamb.

Where do you have them? Any concerns?

No concerns at all. If they sell out against the run we will hurt them with the pass. They put Lamb in motion so tough to double. We also have TE's to throw to.

Whew…you’re more optimistic than me.

We need to rank the QBs decision making among the teams

Soon as a seen this thread title which didn't have Dak in the title, I KNEW someone would try and turn this thread into a ANOTHER bash Dak thread. You know, the QB that's taken our team to the top of the offensive rankings since he's been back? I know I know, that fact saddens all you Dak haters. Here's a tissue. :D

AFC:
Bills: Push
Chiefs: Better (excluding Kelce)
Ravens: Better
Titans: Push
Bengals: Worse
Dolphins: Worse
Jets: Worse

NFC:
Eagles: Worse
Vikings: Worse
Giants: Better
49ers: Worse
Buccaneers: Worse
Seahawks: Worse

I put us better than at least 3 playoff teams and roughly on par with another two. There’s a few more teams that might limp in but aren’t much threat IMO. We are right up there with the TE’s and RB’s though and our top two WR’s are pretty darn good.

The playoffs are about winning one game against one team and while the skill positions are important, did we suspect that it was the poor tackling defense and penalties that would lose that game last season?

If the Cowboys can keep the opponent from controlling the game via the run, they have as formidable a pass defense as any team and defense still wins championships.

Yea, I think we see it fairly close.

You see it as a concern for the playoffs?

I mean, considering our OL was banged up and limped into the playoffs it wasn’t a surprise they got worked and had penalties. Also stopping the run against quality teams had been an issue for years so that wasn’t a shock either.

Agree with your second paragraph but doesn’t really address the subject of the thread.
