Probably my 3 favorite backs in this class are Todd Gurley, Duke Johnson and Jeremy Langford.

That's a good list.

Everyone talks about Coleman vs. Ohio State, but Langford also put on a professional performance vs that defense

1st- Gurley

Trade back from 1st- Gordon, Coleman

2nd- Ajayi (the knee is something I'd gamble on)

If we were to acquire a pick between 60-91- Yeldon, Duke

3rd- Buck Allen, Mike Davis, Langford

That's pretty much where I'm at in that order. And I honestly feel perfectly fine with any of those scenarios. If the worst case scenario is that we get 2 good prospects in rounds 1 and 2 have to settle for Langford in the 3rd then we are in pretty good shape.

That was Kiper's A grade scenario. Byron Jones, Michael Bennett and then Langford in the 3rd round.

I have only watched highlights on you tube. My game tape was destroyed in the big flood.

From what I have seen, I don't see it with Coleman. 2000 yards is a remarkable achievement. But when I watch his big runs, I don't feel like you get any of those runs in the NFL. Very rarely do you see those open runs where you get to the second level and run away from everyone. I don't see it with him.

On the other hand, I really like the highlights of Abdullah. I love his explosion, quickness, breaking arm tackles and he runs with a purpose. The fumbling is a huge concern and he is smaller than I would like. Although, his runs in the highlights are the type of runs you see in the NFL. I would rate him third. Although I am not sure I would take him in the second round. I don't know if he is that much better than some of the backs right after him who may be available in the third round.

He did not look explosive last year at all. He was definitely a bit overweight. Plus, his brother was a very good college back who did nothing in the pros.

He definitely looked much more explosive two years ago. Kind of disconcerting that he seemed to slow down a bit. Had quite a bit of wiggle then. two years ago he looked more like Jonathan Stewart, this year he looked more like Mike Tolbert...

Yeldon all the way IMO

T.J. YELDON, Alabama (6-1, 220, 4.54, 2): Third-year juniorjunior. "If the Cowboys are looking for a replication of DeMarco Murray then they should take him in the second or third round," one scout said. Stood out as a freshman, splitting carries with Eddie Lacy as the Crimson Tide won the national title. "I thought he was a hell of a runner, especially on the perimeter," another scout said. "On screens he's got great stop and start. He'll overmatch some DBs with his strength." Finished with 576 carries for 3,322 (5.8, 37 TDs) and 46 receptions. "He was not their best back (in 2014)," a third scout said. "Derrick Henry, the sophomore, was. He's not as good as Lacy, but he's better than (Mark) Ingram. Yeldon is really strong and has excellent balance, and he has really good hands. But they always catch him

I can see us taking him totally w Saban and Garrett relationship

I thought Mike Davis and Yeldon were both at Gurley's level when they came onto the scene a few years ago. Neither looked the same this year. I thought both had good size and explosion to be starting caliber running backs. Neither looked like it this year. If either can regain that form, they could be excellent value.

1. Gordon - Character, balance, vision, power, speed, no injuries and best stiff arm in this class IMO. Not to mention he carried his team all season and doesn't have much tread on his tires for a proven commodity (only started 1 season).
2. Gurley - Knee scares me a little but obviously his tape says it all. His extra gear looks great in the highlights. Love how he runs between the tackles and how he keeps his balance.
3. Abdullah - fantastic low center of gravity with quickness. Could be the next Ray Rice IMO
4. Ajayi
5a. Langford
5b. Cobb - love the toughness

I don't have Coleman here because I just have no idea how I feel about him. The speed is ridiculous but he also feels like a one trick pony.

Not big on Yeldon in terms of what i see out of him vs where he will probably get drafted.

also I really like Crockett from North Dakota State. Watched a lot of their games last year and he was the engine behind their playoff run. Stabilized the offense with their first year starter QB (Their QB will at least get a shot in the NFL IMO, just look at his measurables and arm strength...clutch too)
Crockett reminds me a little of Alfred Morris. Obviously he is a very late round type of draft pick due to uncertainty about his level of competition.

I don't have Coleman in there because we already have a bigger and faster version on our roster.

Do you really think at this age, McFadden is faster than Coleman?

This is difficult for me as I believe that Williams the running back we had on the practice squad last year is greater than most of the picks available. Now we know he has warts like pass protection, but like most of us I never saw him past September last year to know whether or not he improved. As a pure runner Williams is a homerun waiting to happen on each play, he does not have that stiff arm that made Murray so potent in those short yardage situations. I do see the value in those dirty yards so the homerun capability is somewhat a wash IMO.
Dirty Yard guys in the Draft that help the defense:
none of these guys steps in and replaces Murray IMO

Gurley
Yeldon
David Johnson
Davis
Cobb
Buck Allen

Depends.

If you want a guy to carry the load and batter the defense for four quarters, I like David Cobb.

If you want an explosive guy who sees the field and has the speed/elusiveness to rip off yards in chunks or score on any play, I like Duke Johnson.

If you want a guy who can do both, I like Todd Gurley.

Edit: I like Ryan Williams too.

Yeah, I think you need to watch him run a bit more.

I like his running just fine. But I'm not expecting someone who couldn't even crack a thousand yds in college to come in and replace the offensive player of the year.

Especially when he's fat
