Dallas is #2.

No one could have predicted that the Cowboys would have been one of the two teams to beat at the end of the regular season after Tony Romo went down, but here we are. Next to the Patriots, Dallas is the most balanced team in the NFL. They have a dominant running game led by Ezekiel Elliott, which is complemented by a quarterback who doesn’t make mistakes and a receiving corps that has the fewest drops in the league (seven). Defensively, Dallas is No. 1 against the run. That’s both a testament to its ability to force teams to throw the ball by jumping out to leads and the play of Sean Lee. The Cowboys are legitimate Super Bowl contenders behind their pair of outstanding rookies. The only thing standing in Dallas’ way of a trip to Houston is the tough NFC, which boasts the Falcons, Seahawks, and Giants – who beat the Cowboys twice in the regular season.

I think we also have the best point differential in the NFL. And if I'm not wrong. Every team that has had that has gone on to win the superbowl.

We don't we have the third best at +115, Atlanta is +134 and the Patriots are +191. No one else even has +100.

Not even close. The Panthers had the best point differential last year (plus-192). The Broncos were 10th at plus-59.

The 2011-12 Giants didn't even have a positive point differential, and they won it all.

plus points just shows a team has been consistent thru the year, never getting beat bad , no let downs.
it is a good sign, but playoffs are a different story.

Without looking I'm pretty sure NE is dominating that category.

Edit: I've now read that other people have posted the same.

This has been the funnest season I can remember. I was a fan when the 90s team put it together but I am appreciating it so much more this time. Weve suffered for so long and to have such a young and promising team is really exciting.

So heres my (not so obvious)prediction.

Divisional vs Detroit (yes they are capable of taking down Seattle)

NFC championship vs Atlanta

Superbowl vs Pats

I am likely to be wrong on all counts but Seattles oline and run game suck, they are susceptible. Atlanta/Greenbay likely becomes a shoot out and I like Atlantas weapons just a tad more. Aaron Rodgers is a curious case. He was gawd awful when they played us and had been pretty mediocre for 2 years. I thought at one point we were witnessing his decline. In all honesty Greenbay is the better team and should win. Atlantas defense in turrible. But Im gonna take them for giggles. I really like KC to come out of the AFC with Tyreek the thrill Hill continuing to be what we all wish Lucky Whitehead becomes when he grows up. But beating Tom Brady may be too much to ask.

No matter, we are playing with house money right now and the future looks bright so do yourself a favor and marinate in it as much as you can. Sport your Cowboys gear non stop and trash talk like theres no tomorrow. I know I am.

http://www.playoffstatus.com/nfl/nflpostseasonprob.html

PlayoffStatus.com gives us the best chance to make the Super Bowl (even better than the Patriots, somehow) and the second-best chance to win it (behind the Patriots).

http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/playoffodds

Football Outsiders puts us behind the Patriots in both categories.

Both of those sources give us similar odds (without knowing yet who wins in the first round, of course) -- a 75-76 percent chance of playing in the NFC title game, a 50-54 percent chance of playing in the Super Bowl and a 25-27 percent chance of winning it all.

A less true statement has never been made on this board. And that's saying a lot.

Heard an interesting one just a while ago -- don't know if it's true:

No team that has forced less than 25 turnovers in a season has every won a Superbowl.

Cowboys have 20 for the season.

Considering you are new here I'll let this slide. Week one of season Zeke was a bust and Byron Jones was horrible. Just saying I may have made a mistake. But being called out is one thing. Saying it's the least true statement ever made is a joke in itself.

This is largely based on how people will bet. Dallas always gets action from its rooting base.

Another reason why the Patriots have such good odds...

Correct, but in the Championship round, NE will have the tougher game - against Pitt or Kansas City. Dallas will play vs. Atlanta or Seattle.

Kansas City doesnt scare me and we've already beat Pittsburgh. Outside of Roethlisberger theres no QB to fear shredding your defense in the AFC playoffs.
