Rapoport: Cowboys haven't offered Dak a contract extension

Yes! If this is the case, I will be looking forward to the 2024 season more than if we extended him just to see us go one and done again. I would like to see what, if anything Trey lance can bring to the table.
me too, honestly i am done with dak...fine with lance getting a shot and if hes crap then we use a draft pick in 2025 and start over...all good...just want something new to be excited about.

Late to the convo so sorry if I am off base. The amount of blowout wins Dallas had last year is not relevant in regards to Lance. He was the 3rd QB every game. That means he was not allowed to play unless both Dak and Rush were injured.

This has been stated. I believe Lance should’ve been the backup if he was better than Rush. No one would intentionally not play their game for the sake of Cooper Rush.

Mutual as in the Cowboys saying no to him. For Dak, why on Earth would you walk away from being QB of the Dallas Cowboys?

As I said like two months ago, all the signs were there. It started with trading for Lance and was solidified by Dak bombing in the playoffs once again. Dak had a chance to change the narrative in the playoffs — even if the team lost in a shootout — but he folded under the pressure in the same way again, and this time it was even worse.

Well, if that is true then that is my mistake, but I don't recall beating teams so bad 8 times that Rush got into the game.
I mean you insulted me and said I can’t count so you don’t even think to check and see if what I was saying was true?

Hmmmm..... but they can't let a lame duck QB lead the team. He will have selfish interests in mind over team interests (throwing ball away vs hanging in pocket and letting WR open up.....step out of bounds 2 yds shy of 1st down to avoid a hit...etc etc).

They should trade him for whatever spare change they can get, even if they have to give a 4th or 5th away to bribe some team to take this chump.

Something else must be up. Perhaps this is an agreed upon statement to the media, meanwhile both sides know the true plan and its mutually beneficial

so no more free agents will be signed and we will solely rely on draftees, udfa's. Great plan, what could go wrong?
Jerry will be laughing all the way to the bank. He couldn’t have ask for a better situation. An average football team with a quarterback playing for his job with the fan base divided. Cha Ching…….

I said I was probably wrong. Damn, like you told someone else, grow up! You will really know if I ever really do insult you.

Yes there were plenty of blowout games for Rush to play in: 40-0 (Giants), 30-10 (Jets), 38-3 (Patriots), 43-20 (Rams), 49-17 (Giants), 33-10 (Panthers), and 45-10 and 38-10 (Commanders).

And he also got into some games just to kneel on the ball and not actually play.

I know, I was thinking backwards for some reason.

If they don't come to agreement, these fans are gonna be wishing they had extended Dak 3 years from now. Mark my words. This front office can't draft qbs.
