Rapoport thinks Cowboys will expand coaching search, mentions Kliff Kingsbury

Offensive coordinator might be overrated as a head coach. 3 final four teams head coaches will either be special teams guys or a defensive coordinator.

I think Dan Campbell is what Jerry is hoping to get with Witten. Sure, Campbell makes decisions that make you scratch your head, but he owns up to it and explains why he did it. It's never a case of him being an unwitting moron. He rolls the dice and isn't afraid to lose.

I'm not a fan of hiring Witten after listening to him analyze games on MNF. He's absolutely a meathead.
He also appears to be kind of socially awkward.

I'd be okay with Kingsbury, as long as they get a quality defensive coordinator. Maybe they retain Zimmer. I don't know what difference it would make unless they get some quality players for the offense but at least Kingsbury has an offensive plan that puts players in a good position to succeed.

I would not build this team around Dak. Jerry signing Dak's contract has forced Dallas to make a plan to move on from that contract as quickly as possible, even if it means 2025 and 2026 might be sub-par seasons. In the meantime, Let Kingsbury pick a QB out of the next 2 drafts. But 2027, the Cowboys will be out from under the anchor of Dak's deal and can make some serious progress in rebuilding the team.

Jerral is going to tire of this process quickly and just hire someone so he can get in some yacht time. I don't wee him interviewing many more candidates. Besides, he'll want to announce SB Sunday morning to suck the air out of the room.
He can have them flown to his big boat with his helicopter. Tells them if they can jump and land on his boat. They are hired. If they fall in the water, well then good luck swimming back to shore.
