If he does decide to go in a new direction, sooner would be better, rather than waiting until all the best candidates are gone.

That could very well be Jerry's sinister plan - purposely wait until all the best candidates are no longer available and then drunkenly claim that he now has no choice but to retain Garrett.

Hope it doesn't play out like player free agency does. Jones and co. MIA for the first week only to return and be left scrounging for scraps at the coaching table. The longer it takes, the likelihood of old jer retaining JG grows stronger.

Jerry is such a detriment to this franchise, as a GM he has only made two good decisions during his tenure. 1 hire Jimmy Johnson, 2 hire Bill Parcells to clean up his mess. I've never seen someone so stubborn in trying too make something work that doesn't work. Garrett and Wade Phillips inherited a very good roster and many of the poor roster decisions were made on the offensive side of the ball like trading for Roy Williams and drafting Felix Jones both decisions cost Dallas a 1st round draft pick. The notion that Garrett left the team in better shape than he found it is utter BS.

The new coach should insist upon being the first guest on Jerry's radio show after every game. Might as well give the new coach a chance to defend himself from the backstabbing front office.

The players are going to have a hard time adapting to a new coach if he doesnt clap for them or pat them on the but when their make major game losing mistakes. The players are hooked on JG because he makes them feel warm and fuzzy.

Pure speculation here, but I get the feeling jerry is taking his time because urban hasn't given him a definitive yes or no yet.

I hate tell everyone but if Jerry doesn't relinquish control it won't matter who the coach is. They might do better then Garrett to some degree but will be limited also

Who would want to be a head coach with no say in coaching staff or draft picks?

If you’re looking at coordinators who are still in playoffs then you’d have to wait until their season is over to pursue them.

Or to justify hiring another desperate loser like Campos, Chailey or Phillip's that will be happy to be a puppet yes man.
