Cowboys need to get back to what made us a top 5 team. OLINE AND RUNNING THE ROCK. Ball control. We need to have an elite oline to do what we want.Time to instill some toughness again on the oline and stop counting on oft injured players to regain there form. Tyron is at the end of his rope. Forget his age, its the miles on him.Collins is even a bigger concern and may not be ready to start the season. He actually has a long road ahead.

Many people don't think Slater isn't that good, based purely on his lack of length. He is a legitimate blue chip prospect! Right now Slater is the best Tackle, where Sewell has all the elite, physical traits to surpass him if he reaches his potential.

Even if you want to call Slater a guard, he is the best guard since Quentin Nelson three years ago. True blue-chip prospect. If we turn #10 into any blue-chip stud, I won't be too mad about it.

This team will not be a run first team.

They simply have too many weapons to not pass the ball. Cooper, Gallup, Lamb, Jarwin and Schultz

I like Slater better then Sewell. Only reason you take Sewell instead is if you want a deal with the car dealership and want pass blocking instead of run blocking. Dallas is a running team so Slater is a solid pick

Draft Darrisaw to be swing tackle & Tyron’s replacement, Biadasz moves McGovern to LG so we can launch Williams and if need be, move La’el back to LG and put Darrisaw at RT. Looney becomes expendable as he’s not really all that great to begin with. We have 10 guys who can play OG & C but we need better players for depth at OT.

Dude I like everybody on here and mean no disrespect but EVERY draft guru has Sewell ahead of Slater. Slater’s NOT GOING TO PLAY OT in the NFL unless someone gets hurt and they have to throw him out there. He has OG written all over him.

Sewell is elite, upside player, where Slater is ready to make an immediate impact as he is way ahead from the technical standpoint. It's kind of like Farley/Surtain. Sewell is expected to become the better player down the line.

I really don't care about his short arms, this kid can play. He has proven this against top competition at the position. Sure, some teams will see him more of an interior player, but it doesn't mean he cannot play the position on the NFL Level. Many insiders are projecting him as a top 10 talent, if he is a Guard only, he wouldn't be anywhere close to that range.

then we wont win. Look at all the recent SB winning teams, even the chiefs in 2019. They ran the ball FIRST and successfully, to set up the pass. Its called balance. Look at Tampa Bay this year. RUN FIRST to set up the pass. They had great balance the last few weeks of the season and it paid off in the post season. We must stop trying to reinvent the game of FB. It gets us nowhere. Passing gets fannies in the seats, but running the ball coupled with good defense wins Trophies.

When you lose 80% of your starters on the OL it will derail ALL teams seasons.

ESPN (yeah I don't like them either but arm length isn't a subjective/opinion thing) shows arm length at 32 3/4.

But some profiles also say he'd be better at guard, we saw this past year that Martin can handle the tackle spot, maybe he can go there and Slater go to guard, he might be great there...

That'd be preferable, I was just hedging my bet in case Collins' recovery doesn't go well....

Yeah Martin didn't have much of a problem with "long" defensive ends...

I think saying Sewell is an upside player is an incredible exaggeration. Paye and Rousseau are upside players.

Sewell has elite tape and had one of the highest pff grades at OT as a freaking 19 year old.

He can get better, but he’s OT 1 without question for me.
