He was projected 5th round. Everything I'm hearing is really positive how high do you this his celing is?

well since he was a 7th rounder, i dont see a ceiling, i think he can go as far as he does.

You know, it is really hard to judge. RATLIFF (no "c" in the name) was taken in the 7th round. Most 7th rounders don't make the team. Then there are the Leon Lett's of the world.

From the sound of things, he has got a motor that doesn't quit. That is what you hope for in the lower picks. If there is something there to cultivate, then either keep him on the 53 man roster, or risk losing him on the practice squad (which is how Dallas acquired Ben Noll and ticked off the Rams).

I think he makes the roster.

Did he play in the scrimmage? How did he do?

He played well, pretty energized, good push...still it was a scrimmage. When Johnson was making those sacks, Ratliff was in there with him most of the time.

I will say this, I am high on Ratliff... as is LaTunaNostra and any and every other Cowboys fan.

thanks for the info.

Of course Ratliff might be the odd man out if "Pepper" turns out to be the real thing. The pains of depth I guess.

Everyone is pulling for him, and it's easy to root for the underdog. Every Cowboy fan is awaiting the next Leon Lett ... but let's be honest, for every Leon Lett, there's been over 10 year's worth of 7th rounders to don't even make the team.

I hope Ratlif pans out, but I don't expect anything more than a solid backup player. That would give us great value out of this 7th round pick.
