Some people will complain regardless.
My issue with dak is this. He does not seem to play well in big games against tough competition. If he does end up playing well, it normally takes him awhile to get going.
I try to love Dak. He gives you glimpses, but then he does things that have you scratching your head. He plays so well at times and then others he's a completely different player. I want my franchise quarterback who is surrounded by weapons to be a good to great QB every game. You can't feel good about this team having success in the postseason if you don't know which Dak you will get.
But there are big games in which Dak has played well, even if that doesn't always result in a win for the team. I don't believe it's really accurate to say that Dak "never" plays well in big games or against tough competition. Because we could look back and see games in which Dak has still played well. But it's not enough for some fans, because if the Cowboys lose that game, then you'll see a bunch of "Stats don't matter" or "It doesn't matter how many yards or TDs that Dak threw for, because the Cowboys still lost." And these takes are what the more negative side of the fanbase focuses on constantly, even when Dak does it against the better opponents. They'll ignore or disregard the defense giving up a lot of points or other players on the team making mistakes and will still find a way to blame mostly Dak for those losses.
Then if Dak doesn't light it a defense for 400 yards, but the Cowboys win, these same fans will suddenly act like QB stats are important or should matter again. As I said, it's one thing to be concerned about Dak struggling or playing badly in some games and another for some just to be negative all of the time no matter what he does.
Like for example, when someone posts a positive or complimentary thread or topic about Dak. then you have certain posters who will rush in those threads and accuse the OP of "trolling" or make some sort of negative comment about the OP posting a positive Dak thread on a Cowboys forum. Yet that same poster has no qualms with dozens of Anti-Dak or Dak bashing threads being posted on this forum every week. And some Cowboys fans on this forum, seem to want to gatekeep or police the positive Dak threads. While being okay with the idea of their being limitless Dak bashing or Dak criticism threads. And act like only negative Dak threads or opinions should be allowed on the Cowboys forum. But then will come up with reasons or complaints for why they seem to be irritated, bothered, or annoyed by positive Dak topics being posted.
