I'm listening to Ben & Ski. show here in Dallas and they say Romo is great quarterback. I'm thinking what is their definition of great. I'm reading a lot of people saying he is great.

Scale of 1-10 with 10 highest. How do you rate Romo based on his whole career.

When I think of great quarterbacks I think of Superbowl winners, that is just me.

I think Romo is a very good QB and capable of leading this team to where they want to go.

He's a great tease that's about it. I'd rate him around 12. He has great stats, but he's not a winner. I just don't think he's mentally tough enough to handle to pressure and the expectation of being QB for the Cowboys. I'll be shocked if he ever leads us to anything significant. It was ironic Lebron James was at the game as well. When you look at the James and romo they're the posterchild for coming up small in their respective sports.

There's no point in some arbitrary numerical scale.

You have to rate versus the other available QBs. I'd rather have Manning, Brady, Rodgers, or Brees for sure. Probably put Rivers over him. I think I would put him even with Ryan and Rothlisberger (can't knock 2 SBs). So he's a top 10, but not top 5 QB. Certainly not great. Good though.

....Simply tries to do TOO much and refuses to learn from it: literally tries too hard = 7+

Romo is a great QB with the right coaching staff. This is not the right coaching staff for him.

Romo is a great QB. He has all the talent in the world. But I've lost faith in his ability to win a title.

8 - Not the greatest but I believe any chance we have over the next few years lives or dies with Tony - I believe :D

How can you say he's great if you don't believe he can win? Isn't that the definition of great?

He is great UNTIL he has his giant collapses.

The same way I can say Dan Marino, Dan Fouts, Jim Kelly, Warren Moon and Fran Tarkenton were great.

Decent. If Brees, Rodgers, and Brady are 10's then Romo is probably an 8. He's like what Marc Bulger and Trent Green were with their teams in the early 2000s. Good QBs but no one was putting them on the same level with the other elite QBs of the time.

Romo is in his sixth year starting. At the same point in his career, Peyton Manning had ZERO playoff wins. Same type of situation with other HOF QBs.

He makes all the throws, has never had a great O-line, and has had plenty of change and little stability like Manning, Brady, Rodgers and Brees have enjoyed.

Give him some time with a great coach and some stability and he will come through. Patience!!!!

Ability, mid-career: 8.5

The fumble, the interception and then the smiling after the inadvertent snap. Peyton Manning would not have been smiling. With that goofy ****-eating grin, he betrays a lack of seriousness at times that you never saw in Staubach or Aikman. My fear is that, like Danny White or Bernie Kosar or Warren Moon, he's good enough to get you to a certain level but no farther.

He loses focus.
