Rate Romo

I think he can and has learned from it. But the lesson only takes for so long before he has to be reminded. I'm thinking of the stinker he threw up against the Giants, week 2 of 2009. He learned his lesson the hard way and was the best he's been the rest of that season. I'm hoping he uses this one as a reminder in the same way.

Romo is in his sixth year starting. At the same point in his career, Peyton Manning had ZERO playoff wins. Same type of situation with other HOF QBs.

He makes all the throws, has never had a great O-line, and has had plenty of change and little stability like Manning, Brady, Rodgers and Brees have enjoyed.

Give him some time with a great coach and some stability and he will come through. Patience!!!!

Ability, mid-career: 8.5

In his sixth year starting, Peyton was in only his sixth year overall and 26. This is Romo's ninth year in the league and he's 31.

He loses focus.

After that 44-6 loss to Philly, he made a big deal out of learning how to protect the ball. Something's gone awry.

He is great. But he just doesn't know when to go conservative. I don't care about the pick. He misread a coverage by a CB who is the best in the biz. The fumble is inexcusable.

Parcells used to say "sometimes a give up is a good play" -- we could have used that last night

Romo is a 5.5, just slight above average, rate him between 12-16 of quarterbacks in the league

To me Romo's biggest problem is he tries to do too much at times. I think he wants to win so bad, and wants to be the guy that makes the play that he ends up forcing things at times. Unless he is able to let the game come to him when it matters most he is never going to take this team any where.

Peyton was a No. 1 pick and Romo was undrafted.

Also, Peyton, until last year or the year before, only had one offensive coordinator. How many OC have the Cowboys had since Romo came into the league?

I thought Romo played an exceptional game for three quarters, showing a good deal of patience when nothing was there and ability when opportunities presented themselves. In the last few series, he became careless and made critical errors which cost us the game. I rate him an 8. As others have said, Romo is very good qb but not elite until he proves he can do it consistently in crunch time.

I actually think it is the other way around, the fumble is more forgivable because he isnt a running back. He was scrambling and thought he saw a lane. It happens, it was awful timing but it happens. The int on the other hand was simply inexcusable to me because he was forcing a throw that he didnt have to make. That is an int that would be ok in the first quarter but not in a tie game with 2 minutes left on first down no less. Throw the ball away, and make a play the next down.

9 straight up.

The SOLE reason why Dallas has even been close to being in the playoffs or anything else the last few years.

Without him, another 3-4 maybe 5 win team.

I'm listening to Ben & Ski. show here in Dallas and they say Romo is great quarterback. I'm thinking what is their definition of great. I'm reading a lot of people saying he is great.

Scale of 1-10 with 10 highest. How do you rate Romo based on his whole career.

When I think of great quarterbacks I think of Superbowl winners, that is just me.
I'll wait until week 16 to do this officially. If I had to do this right now, I would give him a 7

Ask this same question after one of his great games. The results will reflect the most recent performance.

You hit the nail on the head.

Agreed.

The Romo bandwagon will be all full either next week, or the week after.

Count on it.

I have been a Romo homer for a long time. But its getting harder and harder. If its a clutch or big game maybe a 6 if its just a regular season game maybe a 8.
