Monster...

The true story of Aileen Wuornos, a Daytona Beach prostitute who murdered several men in the early 90's. It was a disturbing and engrossing motion picture.
Wuornos was portrayed by Charlize Theron. Miss Theron won the best actress Oscar for her work on this film, and it was well deserved.
Aileen Wuornos was tried, found guilty and sentenced to death by the state of Florida.

Watched the documentary Tyson and I'd give it a 5/5 as far as sports documentary goes, it was a very well done movie, definitely worth a rental.

The makeup person should have won an award also. Anyone who can turn a beautiful woman like Charlize in to a beast like that deserves something.

Indeed. It tells in the "extras" how it was done. Miss Theron had to gain several pounds for the role. If you remember this was the year The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King ran away with everything.

True but that makeup artist has some serious skills

I read the dialogue was mostly improvised.......
I'm sure most of it was. You couldn't possibly write all of the dialogue in something like this. But it seemed obvious that many parts were scripted. Ideally everything would be improvised and you would have good enough actors to pull it off.

Anyone watch "3 Shots That Changed America" on History Channel? Pretty good imo.

I enjoyed the old Dallas Police Department footage. Historic. But it also showed what a joke Jesse Curry and that department was then. Walking the alleged assassin back and forth down a hallway crowded with reporters and who knows who else (people like Jack Ruby). Parading the alleged murder weapon down the hall. Curry trying to backpedal about the report that the FBI had interviewed Oswald prior to the assassination .... That department was a disaster.

And the title should be "4 Shots that Changed America." ;)

I went to the 6th Floor Museum a few months ago and it was pretty entertaining. Getting to overlook Daley Plaza and see things from that viewpoint was worth the price of admission.

I haven't been to the plaza since 1983. I'd like to go back and visit that museum.

One of my first memories is Walter taking off his eyeglasses while announcing the assassination. And my mother screaming. I watched all Four hours, it was a fascinating look at that day.

Knowing

Four words...Visions of the Apocalypse. I give it a Six out of Ten just for the plane crash scene.

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

6/10 - Kinda boring. Nothing happened the whole movie. Weakest movie of the series. The plot was thin and had no meat to it. *scratches head* Maybe the book was better.

The book was MUCH better. This was the worst adaptation thus far by a whole bunch (I still think Phoenix is the worst movie though because it was easily the worst and most pointless book of the series). The sad part is that they nailed a good portion of it perfectly, but the parts they got wrong they got very very wrong.
