Selma - 7.5/10 An excellent movie that was well framed. I've heard questions about the authenticity of LBJ's portrayal, but it was before my birth, so I don't know about that.

Whiplash - 8/10 I'm not sure I rooted for anyone in this film. JK Simmons' character induced more hatred from me than his role in Oz, which is difficult to do. Very intense film.

Birdman - 8.5/10 Wow, the continuous shot of the movie kept me glued to the screen. Michael Keaton showed up to deliver a gem of a performance.

Predestination - 6/10 I'm not an Ethan Hawke fan, but I'm a sucker for time travel films. It was a fun watch.

Annie (don't judge, I have a little girl that likes musicals!) - (5 out of ten) - It had some tolerable moments and I find Rose Bryne to be easy on the eyes so that helped. Cameron Diaz was really terrible. If you like musicals, then it would probably be good enough. My daughter has been singing the tunes for the last two days since we saw it, so she thought it was a winner!

I saw it. Good. It was an interesting filming concept. The story itself isn't anything great, but the way it is put together is intriguing. The acting is alright.

So my suspicions of it getting over-hyped because of how it was made, as opposed to how good it really is, are true?

The Equalizer - Sometimes when they make movies based on TV shows they go one or two routes.

They try to stay close to the TV show or they take the smallest of the premise and make their own story from there.

This one was the later.

About the only thing in common was an older man seeing people in need of help and him having the background to help.
No english accent, no nice jaq or other nice car. No walking around in suit and long coat.

Frankly it is one of those movies where over all it was not bad, nothing special but not bad...but at the time you did not really feel to emotional towards any of the people needing help. The bad guys were generic russian gangsters, the movie was longer than it needed to be and it just did not deliver over all.

They do not give much, if any, background to Denzil's character except that he worked with the government at one time and you learn that when he goes and asks for some help from a former CIA or FBI (did not catch) friend for some info.

I doubt I would watch it again.

Night at the Museum 6/10

Not sure how to rate this, because since this was a sequel, I feel I missed out on some important pieces to the story.

It was weird to see Robin Williams too.

For a kid's movie, it was fine. Too many holes for a decent adult movie.

American Sniper - 7/10. I don't know what it is with Clint Eadtwood directed movies. They're well made, and the performances are great, but I just can't get really into them. This is no exception. I can't really point to anything I didn't like, but I certainly wasn't overwhelmed.

American Sniper..8.

Bradley Cooper is amazing in it. Who knew?

Could not stop thinking though how Chris was murdered. After all that he made it home & was murdered.

American Sniper--7. Solid movie. Bradley Cooper was good.
White Bird in a Blizzard---7. The ending was trippy. Whoa. Did not expect that.
The Giver---5. I do not like when movies stray away from the book.
Gone Girl--5. Really, all that for a psycho *****? BOOOOOO.
