Rate the last movie you saw

Yeah...I Saw the Devil is a classic......its in my top 10 :)

Another foreign film that isnt as good but I really enjoyed....was Secret in their Eyes.......its alot tamer then I Saw the Devil but overall its a well done movie.

I went to Looper last nite

I would give it 6\10.....was disappointed.....I dont understand the high rating on IMDB....because its no where near that rating.

JMHO of course :)

The Grey on Netflix... I give it a 6/10. Liam Neeson was good in the lead role but his surrounding cast and, more importantly, the ending left a lot to be desired.

A MUCH BETTER man vs. animal/nature survival film was "The Edge" w/ Anthony Hopkins and Alec Baldwin, IMO. I'd hoped "The Grey" would be a movie that was something along those lines but, unfortunately, no.

you know at the end after the credits it shows the wolf drawing its last breath....which would fit in with the movie's theme...i thought it was perfect

Watched the Old Boy movie some time back and enjoyed it.

Did not realize until recently that it is part of a Revenge/vengeance trilogy.

Although the other two movies are not connected other than being revenge/vengeance movies.

So I found the other two and watched them.

I did not find the other two as twisted as Old Boy but they were ok.

Sympathy for Mr Vengeance was first of the three. It held my attention and had some different scenarios in it that kind of made it cool.

Old Boy was the middle one and probably my over all favorite because it is so twisted.

Lady Vengeance is the last of the trilogy and I liked it second best.

Missed seeing that... didn't know. That does fit in w/ the movie's delivery style. Wish they'd put it in before the end credits so I'd known it was there. I'll watch it again. It was a good enough movie to be worth at least a 2nd viewing.

Thanks for the info. ;)

Just saw Taken 2 this afternoon.

I would give 7/10, there were some slow moments but most of the times, it was fast paced action packed movie, it was entertaining for me so I enjoyed it.

Interested to know how you would compare Taken 2 to Taken, the original... head to head. I liked the first movie. Figure I'd score it 8/10.

Was looking forward to the sequel, but haven't seen it yet. Whaddaya say?

I saw Snow White and the Huntsman a few days ago. It was much better than I expected. Definitely better than the other Snow White film that was released pretty much in the same time frame, Mirror Mirror. That was just awful IMO.

My wife and sister in law somehow got into a premier for Taken 2. Liam Neeson came and answered a bunch of questions, took pictures, etc. They said he was very nice and very tall.

I never realized it, but apparently he's 6'4". They make everyone look tall on-screen, you'd think Tom Cruise was at least 6', but he's just 5'7" so I guess they make Neeson look smaller.

They liked the movie though, I'll probably wait for DVD on that one but I liked the original other than the insanely annoying daughter.

I liked the first one bit more because it involved his daughter getting kidnapped, there was more emotions and tension involved, as fathers, we would act anyway to get her back. With the sequel, it is all about the revenge from the bad guys and lacked the drama of locating and rescuing some one who means everything to you.

Memories of Murder

I liked it. Cops in Korea trying to find a serial killer.

Crime/thriller/drama and a little humor thrown in.

However a warning. It is a subtitled film and the ending does not tie everything up in a little bow. So if you don't like subtitles and you don't like movies that leave things open, you will not like this one.

Trick R Treat

Fun movie to watch around this time of year.

7/10

Trick Or Treat

Like it better for the sound track, the ozzy and simmons cameos and RagMan Skippy.

Total 80's cheese rocks.

So no one has seen Taken 2?

I've wanted to see it, but haven't found the time.

Might see it tomorrow. Last Saturday I debated between this and Looper. I chose Looper just so I wouldn't have to wait another 20 minutes for Taken 2 to start.

Looper, by the way: 5/10. Interesting to a point, but the whole Rainmaker angle was too much of a black hole for 99% of the film and only left to interpretation at the very end. And the very end left me quite unimpressed and flat. The acting was not very good. The multiple re-loops were never really explained and kind of out of the blue, and the general flow of the film just wasn't very good, to me. My 5 might actually be a little on the generous side.

Argo - 9.5 /10

Easily the best Affleck movie yet. Simply fantastic.

Enemy at the Gates - 8/10

Interesting film about a Russian and German sniper during the Battle of Stalingrad. Some good performances by Ed Harris and Joseph Fiennes. Shame about Jude Law's cockney accent.

Seven Psychopaths. 9/10

Best movie I have seen in a while. Christopher Walken, Colin Farrell, and Sam Rockwell are all pretty funny in this movie. Woody harrelson is good too. The humor is dark, which is totally my cup of tea. Great writing. Awesome movie.
