in this movie she won me over and blew me away. i simply loved it from start to finish and it's become a quite favorite of mine.
I didn't really like the movie that much, tho I thought it was cute.

I think her best crossover movie was Bringing Down the House.

However some of her better performances were in dramas.. I especially liked her in Secret Life of Bees. Her breakout performance such as it was, was Set it Off. Premise of the movie being what it was, QL did a heckuva job in it, IMO.

not sure why it hit me. it *is* cheesy* and such, but maybe it was cause they went north and played in snow.

trouble with the curve: 6.5/10. pretty predictable movie. I love Eastwood though and had to watch it. they could have explained how a few parts happened better.

Dredd: 7/10. good action movie. again, they skipped a lot of explanations of how something happened.

Dredd is essentially a remake of the Indonesian flick "Raid: redemption. The latter is a Silat martial arts film, in which the action is the best your going to see. The movie blows dredd out of the water.

being a queen latifa fan (sp?) what did you think of last holiday? did i already ask you this once?

I have asked her about it before as well. :laugh2:

Don't know what it is about that movie but I like it.

I know it is not great in any area but it is just one of those movies I enjoy.

Zero Dark Thirty - 10/10

With 24 hours reflection, I honestly rate this the best movie I've seen in at least the last 3 years.

I'm looking forward to seeing it, although I don't know if I'll make it to the theaters to watch it.

Good to hear.

I'll be seeing it this week.

Silver Linings Playbook 7.5/10

Honestly was way better than I was expecting, the main reason why it's not a higher rating is because of the whole dialogue about how the family were all eagles fan and how it wrapped into the story. Being the homer I am I was sitting there grunting, but enjoying my self the whole time. :D

No way that friend who was a Cowboys fan would be wearing that Giants shirt in that one scene. That was just wrong.

Good to hear the positive reviews on this. From the previews, it looked like a money grab on the Bin Laden takedown.

More opportunistic than a money grab. It's a quality film that was done real well and as accurately as we'll ever know though.

Seriously, it was disgusting.

Jack Reacher - 6.5/10
Wreck it Ralph - 7/10
Zero Dark Thirty - 7/10
Argo 7.5/10
Silver Linings Playbook - 8.5/10
Les Miserables - 9/10
The Hobbit - 8/10

Zero Dark 30.....6/10.....long and boring.....Maybe my expectations were too high and maybe its not being American.....but other then Jessica Chastain ...this movie did nothing for me....and overall I dont think it was that well done....Im still trying to understand how critics gave this movie a good review.

Djangp Unchained......9/10....very good...

Seven Psychopaths.....7/10....really enjoyed it...fun

The Hobbit.....8/10....I never read the book...but I enjoyed this movie

I saw both. Raid had some of the best action sequences I've ever seen in a martial arts film.

The Hobbit 8.5/10.

The Haunted House 8/10

Its pretty much straight comedy, not really scary and there's no plot.

Worth seeing though IMO.

Dredd was written and made before the Raid. Not sure how they wound up with similar stories though...that was odd.

Saw silver linings playbook tonight. Seriously, this may have been the best movie I have seen in a few years. All the characters deserve their Oscar nominations. Bradley cooper and Jennifer Lawrence were outstanding.

Zero Dark Thirty - 10/10

Not for the entertainment aspect, but for the intrigue of how things really could go down in the intelligence world. The raid on Osama was frosting on the cake.
