I hate when that happens.I was tempted but forced myself to see it through.
I was basically telling myself, “it has to get better”.
It didn’t.

I'm even notorious for sitting through bad movies but this one just pissed me off because the original was so good. Here's a frequent scene in my house:I was tempted but forced myself to see it through.

Wife: "What are you watching? That looks terrible."
Me: "It is."
Wife: "Why are you watching it then?"
Me: "Because it's so bad that it's fascinating. Who decided this movie needed to be made? Who greenlit it? Just so many whys and hows."
Wife: "Is that Nicholas Cage? Why does his hair look like that?"
Me: "I know...totally awesome, right?"
I did not see the comparison until I read your comment. I agree with your wife.Wife: "Is that Nicholas Cage? Why does his hair look like that?"

Wow, when DE gives a fantasy movie a 5.5, it must be terrible! The Matrix Resurrections (2021)
5.50 of 10.00
Will not lie. Almost turned off the television at the :25 minute mark. Stayed with it until the :42 minute mark and content that I waited.
Have usually enjoyed Yahya Abdul-Mateen in other stuff. I almost loathe him playing Morpheus. Considered giving the movie a 4.85 with him and the actors who played Smith and...
The Merovingian ( )
...but loved Jada Pickett Smith's reprisal of Niobe--along with the addition of Jessica Henwick (whom I am a fan of). They were a positive counter for that trio in my mind.
The upgraded ships, the new human city, swarm and bots were nice additions that I enjoyed. Loved loved LOVED Priyanka Chopra Jonas "grown up" role.
I knew things had "changed" for the Wachowski Brothers in real life but was sidelined by Lana Wachowski's vision of her previous work. This should be the final chapter if this film is indicative of where the franchise is headed. That, and Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss sleepwalking through them like they did in this one.
I would prefer "fair" instead of "terrible" but I understand why others dislike the movie more than me.Wow, when DE gives a fantasy movie a 5.5, it must be terrible!

Bellucci does tend to naturally obliterate anyone else in a scene with her but The Frenchman was WAY better in Reloaded and even Revolutions. Not getting into specifics though (would be a spoiler )Concur with the Yahya Abdul-Mateen critique. Kept telling myself, “This is the best they could do for someone to copy Lawrence Fishburne’s style?” Keanu and Hugo Weaving carried 2 and 3, but IMO, Fishburne carried the first one. Very underrated actor.
I feel like I might have understood more if I had seen 2 and 3 recently. Looks like you remembered the cast. I barely remembered the French guy, only remembered him because of my huge crush on Monica Bellucci. LOL

Went to see Spider-Man : No Way Home this morning. I give it a 4.5.
Just kidding. I give it an 8.5, becauseI don't understand why they came from the other universes just before they died, or if they were brought back (and if so, why?... and wouldn't Mysterio also come back?) Also, I can't stand Tobey, though he was a bit less annoying this time around. Also, I had to pee so bad by the end, I was just wishing it would be over soon, and that sucks! [spoiler/]
In comics, time is relative to... well... time itself. Virtually any imaginable and unimaginable possibility can happen. Granted, it is an intended coincidence for the movie's plot but I would not overthink it in my opinion.
It would not have surprised me if Mysterio had returned eventually. Or it could have easily been a Mysterio or Mysterios whom Earth-616's (Tom Holland) Peter Parker had never met. Multi-verse is literally filled with countless Earths. Most with Parkers. Some where Parker died. Others where Parker never existed as a variation of Maguire/Garfield/Holland. The animated Spider-Man: Into the Spider Verse is a good starting reference to get an idea of just how crazy the possibilities could range.
I had zero problems with Maguire non-CGI work wearing the mask but I rank his Peter Parker behind Holland (the best in my opinion) and Andrew Garfield. Maguire's Parker was stiff, old (even back when he did the first movie incarnation) and predictable.
Sure. Parker is a high schooler with super-powers but he was an uncertain hormonal teenager. To me, Maguire acted the part like a 30-year old winking at the camera saying, "Do I act like a kid to you? haha. Syke!"
Glad he was in this last film but I will not miss Maguire appearances from here-on-out. I am okay with seeing Garfield again though.
American Underdog rather.Anyone see The Underdog yet? I was going to go on Sunday, but have been stuck at home with Covid (so boring!).
No, but the A Football Life about Kurt Warner is really good.American Underdog rather.
