Yeah, that was the second one.

It was an OK flick. They provided some of the plot-filler that should have been tied to the first one.

They've been talking about doing a #3 that would feature the girl of the first movie and one of the guys of the second.

It had a little extra demon/devil feel to it. It was Ok. Jumping on the cars and bus while moving. Freaky!

Watch "Joy Ride" if yas kind of liked Jeepers. It is basically the same idea and I thought a bit better overall.

Captain America Winter Soldier 8/10

I finally got some free time to see it today. To enjoy this movie I really had to pretend there was no Avengers in Shield and it was just Captain America by himself as there were way too many plot holes (IMO) in this movie if there were Avengers. Maybe someone can explain it better to me. I'm not a comics kind of guy, but I do love watching them in the movies.

It had a really great story line and the action was top notch. Robert Redford was great in this movie. Samuel L. Jackson didn't annoy me like he usually does. I actually found myself rooting for him in the car chase. I would have preferred to see more of the Winter Soldier. He was pretty badass, but I was not surprised to see who he really was. I could see that a mile away.

Well. There were several blatant movie ripoffs in this movie, primarily Die Hard, complete with the nerd hacker wizard spouting off lines and alerting the bad guys to incoming. There were some decent scenes, and the little girl waving the flag near the end was a nice touch.

6.5 out of 10

Well that and Olympus has Fallen both came out around the same time with identical plots, passed on both

I liked "Joy Ride". Similar in that you had someone or something chasing two kids in a car, but in one case it was a monster, in the other a serial killer.

I tell ya, I liked the "flow" of "Joy Ride" better overall. Although I prefer the beginning 1/2 of "Jeepers" a wee bit more.

I did think that they did a good job of character development in "Joyride". Certainly better than most horror flicks.

I really enjoyed the sequence where they got into the "tiff" with the gruff motel customer and basically set him up to get whacked by the trucker. I thought that segment right through the forced visit at the hospital being very good.

The one thing that left me a flat was seeing the bad guy and knowing he wasn't the "voice" (that being the voice of Ted Levine, "Buffalo Bill" of "Silence of the Lambs" and a recurring character on Monk).

But yeah overall a very good horror flick.

I'd rate it 7/10

Something about the name "winter soldier" just connected it back to his first stint(first life). So I agree with you.

Cool connection. But predictable.

"Jeepers Creepers"

It's the tale of three movies.

The first 2/3 is solid. Great character development. Good setup. Solid premise. The beginning 1/2 hour is excellent. Both main characters seem like real people as opposed to the cliché characters we find in many horror films.

I would grade the first 1/2 hour as a 9/10.

The second half hour is decent but not nearly as good as the first half hour 6/10.

The final half hour drops the ball. At this point it becomes a regular horror film, with nothing of great interest happening. The other problem is that the movie leaves plot-holes the size of craters unanswered. 3/10.

Overall? I'd give it 5.5/10

I personally though, up to the point they saw the nemesis throwing 'bags' down the chute at the barn, it was excellent as well. Then it just fell apart straight to 3/10.

Her backstory could more interesting than the hydra/shield story. Easily!

To add.

They keep remaking the Hulk. They can't hit the broad side of a barn

I think they should do a prequel. Starting with David Bruce Banner origins.
Maybe a duel timeline like godfather 2.

Yeah, it was a gradual slide down from that point.

The Evil Dead (1981, Sam Raimi director)

I guess there is a more current remake of this film - who knew? Not me.

Wow, this one...it's like great direction meets B-movie with some actual real frights. Oh and let's also use every scary mechanism ever invented while we're at it - fast moving camera through the woods (er, and house at the end) with evil soundtrack, while we can never see what's "coming", girl falls down running away, evil non-stop laughter from the evil one(s), chants of "We're gonna get you!", etc. And it strongly reminded me of another later Sam Raimi film, in terms of the lead actor guy in the film, who I THOUGHT I recognized...yep, sure enough, the one & only star of "Army of Darkness", Bruce Campbell. He gave kind of a foreshadowing performance in this film of how he would react to the evil in the later "Army" film. It was really on the edge of my brain while watching this "Dead" film, but couldn't place it until this morning (I watched the film last night).

For all of the tried and true horror tricks, etc., overall I thought this film just worked pretty well for what it is, and doesn't pretend to be. Highly recommended if you are in to these kinds of films.

The Evil Dead flix are cult classics and have a huge following. I haven't seen the latest, which is a remake of the one you just watched, but they have Evil Dead 2 (which is also a remake of the original, though with a more comedic tone & the best of the franchise) and Army of Darkness which are both worth watching.

A lot better than I thought it would've been. I think someone said it earlier, but this movie is kind of an in between Twilight and Hunger Games on the girly factor. There are a lot of moments where I cringed at the dialogue because it's just so directed toward young female adult readers, but overall was pretty decent.

Enough (2002, J-Lo)

What stood out to me was her abusive husband. Not sure of his real life name, but I recognize him from the current "Helix" TV show as the lead CDC doctor / actor. He is pretty bad actually. I like that show but he single-handledly might drag it into cancellation.

J-Lo, same old sorry acting. I just think this whole "woman abused and fights back" thing deserves a better actress than J-Lo or Farrah. Needs Jodie Foster for example, but she already did something akin to this.

"Maniac"

This is the redo of the 1980's film.

I thought it sucked. It simply didn't click with me.

I would have been better off watching one of the low-budget jobs on "Chiller".

4/10. A POV style horror movie that was comprised of 5 short films. Some were better that others, but none were particularity compelling or scary, and the main story attempting to tie them all together was very weak.
