I don't know if you could classify me a RR homer precisely. However there are some likable things about him.

I like his work ethic as he appears to maximize his ability. (This is very important) He must have a good head on his shoulders coming from Rutgers. Also, regardless of his stature and perceived questionable elusiveness, he has proved he can run inside or outside and demonstrated more speed than most expected.

Something tells me he's underrated by many and will be an excellent long term RB in the league. It's more of a hunch than anything else because taken separately, his measureables are not superb. He just seems like a complete RB. The fans of the team that takes him may not be wowed with the pick but he should exceed expectations.

well I am here in Texas........and I am a Longhorns homer.....so Jamaal Charles gets mad love from me, as well as WR Limas Sweed.

Also in the state of Texas, I have to give some love to WR Donnie Avery and RB Anthony Alridge from UH.

I think JC fits better here due to MB3.

better fit? how so? ray rice has better feet, vision and moves then johnson. johnson has the speed and the size, rice has all the intangibles which seem to to outweigh measureables most of the time. either way, i like both backs and wouldnt be disappointed with either one.

What's there not to like about Ray Rice? Seriously.

People knock him because they say he carried the ball a lot in college. Like tha's a bad thing. If he had only carried the ball 150 times every year, people would be saying he can't carry the load.

Not only did he carry the ball that much, but he stayed healthy doing it. People said he was slow, he puts up a respectable time at the combine.

I think he'll make someone a very good back, I wouldn't mind if it was us. I see nothing wrong with having a guy that has proven he can be a workhorse coming in and backing up a guy that plays every down like it's his last.

You better take into account when discussing RBs whether they can pick up the blitz. Thompson rarely able get on the field cause he never figured it out; MBIII didn't play a lot his first year but finally learned to pick up the blitz so he got his chance. I really doubt we take a RB who can't pick up the blitz and protect Romo. Rice is very good at picking up the blitz as is Forte. Johnson hasn't shown any ability to blitz block; don't know enough about the other RBs you mentioned.

JC not CJ.....please read correctly.....he replied to my comment about Jamaal Charles (JC)......Chris Johnson (CJ) was not even mentioned.....

Not even 200 pounds?

You have to keep in mind he's 5'9".

Chris Johnson is also 195, but is 5'11", McFadden is 210 but 6'2", a lot of it upper body. So we're talking a 15 lb difference between Ray Rice and DMAC, although McFadden is 5 inches taller.

He's compact, and could stand to gain a few pounds but I wouldn't want to see him at much more than 200-210 lbs at 5'9".

Where's theogt? Something must be seriously wrong for him not to post on a thread titled "Ray Rice." We need him here to settle who's better: CJ or Ray Rice. :D

They said the same thing about Emmitt...he toted the rock a ton in college, and they said he didn't have the speed, but luckily for us JJ's both looked at the film and recognized that he produced a lot of long runs.

Only because of the presence of Barber. Otherwise, the better back is Rice. Few would dispute it.

Huge Rice fan myself, I think he has the best vision for any RB in the draft.

Really all we need is a guy like Amad Bradshaw on the Giants that backs up Jacobs that guy is a GREAT back up RB.

I'm definitely not one of those CJ people...dude had almost 1/3 of his total production in two games this past yr, played in a lousy conference and is basically a one yr wonder...honestly he's one of the players I want least in this draft, especially if its before the 3rd rd...there's some talk he wont even end up at RB in th future

I'm a big McFadden proponent, but if we dont get him I wouldnt take any other RB's in the first rd...I'd wait til the 2nd-4th rd area and Rice would be a guy worth grabbing then

Ray Rice will be a good back, I hope we take him in the second round.

Wow..

As much as I want CJ (in the 2nd round!) I have to agree with you on the thread starter's mock. Taking a RB in the 1st round would be a disaster IMO.

CB, WR, and then let's talk RB.. IMO
