Ray Rice

Just because he served time and other ppl also drive drunk it makes it better? Killing someone while driving drunk is better than punching a woman. That's the message I just got from you. Neither are acceptable. Can't be hypocritical and forgive one and not the other. Just because more ppl drive drunk than beat women, that's irrelevant.

No, it's about a deliberate intent to harm vs being stupid.

Ok so we all knew this thread was going to happen eventually. He was just reinstated. Do we pick him up for our stretch run? This has Jerry written all over it. And having him and Murray in the backfield would definitely help our offense in my opinion.

Has been wife beater. Maybe if the rest of the schedule was against woman teams.

Lmao! People on here saying we cannot bring Rice in here, yet how many AP threads have there been this year???

Well he didn't beat a woman he just beat his 4 year old! Please.

Just bc it was accident really doesn't matter. His decisions cost a man his life.
Involuntary manslaughter trumps domestic violence. Much stiffer penalties most times. It's stupid to allow one to play and deny the other. Hypocritical.

Doesn't matter what intent was. Involuntary manslaughter is what it is. You wanna defend him and give him a pass. Don't Piss and moan when rice gets a second chance, too.

Ray Rice should be in jail but his girlfriend/wife won't press charges. He could easily have killed her. Did you watch the video?

For the NFL it comes down to public opinion and I think you see you're outnumber on this opinion.

Some backwards thinking people around here think AP was justified.

Good luck defending this. You are more wrong than most things I have seen in my life.

But I have to say you have guts kid. And sometimes that's all it takes.

im not saying i woulda hit anyone in that instance.

but she didnt press charges against him because in a court of law, she hit him first.

she also married him. which means she admits her role in the argument.

facts and legality dont always add up with chivalry.

Outnumbered doesn't equal credibility. That's group think. I think it's split down the middle anyway. Yeah I saw the video. It was horrible. But I didn't need video to tell me that. There is no videos of Greg hardy and I guarantee he plays again in the NFL. But what Brent did was just as bad or worse. Public opinion doesn't matter to a judge, which is why rice won his appeal. To try to draw a line between Involuntary manslaughter and domestic violence and say one is better than the other is just stupid. Ban both or let both play.

in some states it isnt involuntary manslaughter either...its murder: http://www.shouselaw.com/watson-murder.html

He's certainly not the only guy in the league that has punched a woman. I'd bet every team in the league has one such player on their team already.

My problem with Rice is he just doesn't seem like he has much gas left in the tank.

btw: http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/11913473/janay-rice-gives-own-account-night-atlantic-city

janay basically says they were too drunk to remember much of anything.

so this seems like a drunken accident just like brent's car accident at the root.

Looking out over the media, I became angry, seeing all the people who had been covering this and adding to the story. I wanted to tell everyone what was really on my mind. When it was my turn to speak, I said I regretted my role in the incident. I know some people disagreed with me publicly apologizing. I'm not saying that what Ray did wasn't wrong. He and I both know it was wrong. It's been made clear to him that it was wrong. But at the same time, who am I to put my hands on somebody? I had already apologized to Ray, and I felt that I should take responsibility for what I did.

My 2 cents. Randle or Dunbar are not getting cut. So this thread is pointless.

Colts and Saints among the 4 teams reportedly interested in signing Ray Rice.
