btw: http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/11913473/janay-rice-gives-own-account-night-atlantic-city

janay basically says they were too drunk to remember much of anything.

so this seems like a drunken accident just like brent's car accident at the root.

"Which of us hasn't done it?"

Now all the drunks will come to his defense too

When he was a woman beater he could not be on the team but now that he is a woman beater AND a drunk...... welcome aboard Ray Rice

This is a case of Court of Law vs Court of Public Opinion.
He did a horrendous thing,he got his day in court and served his suspension.
If we are gonna continue to hold that against him,we who have no power over him, then we are no better than him.
He has been forgiven by his now wife and cleared by the arbitrator.
What else do you want from him?

You don't get accidents when you drink and drive, you get results.

The same when you talk on the phone and drive, tailgate the guy in front of you, turn around and talk to someone in the back seat, play with the radio, or simply eat and drive. There are so many ways to make a car dangerous. I bet you have never had a cold one while watching a game an then drove home? I wonder how sports bars, restaurants, etc. sell so much alcohol and yet everyone on here throws stones like they have never drank alcohol outside their homes....just a thought.

You do realize the arbitrator didn't clear him of wrongdoing, right? They just agreed that he was punished twice for one transgression, which was obvious to everyone.

Nobody said what Josh Brent did was not bad, just that Ray Rice was worse.

I dont know on what planet hitting someone is way worse than killing someone.

Both were drunk when they had their incidents...and both would undo them if they could go back in time.

In the eyes of the law, killing someone is worse than hitting someone. And in some states, killing someone while drunk is considered murder. Hitting someone, is never, in any state, considered murder.

Thus, what brent did in every situation is indeed worse.

I would say that most have had a drink or three and driven a car but very very few have punched a woman in the face and knocked her out cold.

I thought you did not want to discuss this lol

Since you do, why don't you address my question, since Ray Rice was also drunk when he did this, why is his crime worse than Brent?

We're not talking about his criminal punishment. We're talking about how the NFL deals with these players. The NFL is not bound by the criminal justice system. They can punish Ray Rice more than Josh Brent if they want to do it.

Ray Rice intentionally punched a woman in the face. I'm certain that if you had 1000 NFL players punch a woman in the face and had 1000 NFL player drive after drinking, that you would have more injures and possibly deaths to the group of woman being punched.

Ok so we all knew this thread was going to happen eventually. He was just reinstated. Do we pick him up for our stretch run? This has Jerry written all over it. And having him and Murray in the backfield would definitely help our offense in my opinion.

Ummmmmmm.....no.

And....

No.

So rice intentionally punched someone though he was drunk but Brent unintentionally killed someone because he was drunk?

Also I am pretty sure more people are killed by being hit by a car than by being punched

The fact is that all you guys would be saying the exact opposite if rice were a cowboy and Brent was a raven
