Ray Sherman not returning

it's ok, Sherman will become a useless coach that we're glad to be rid of within the next 2 pages.

I see this as nothing but a positive..Garrett is putting his prints on this team..people complain about Jerry 24/7 then when Garrett gets to do things his way they still want to complain lol.
he wasn't doing things his way as OC?

Lmao..yeah, Garrett was hiring and firing people as OC...go away

Man this sucks. If there was a coach he deserved to return it was him. He was the only coach who had his guys playing above expectations.

Ray Sherman played nice with the Cowboys by being the Rooney Rule candidate. They repay him by not renewing his contract.
Can we really even assume at this point that this is what happened?

Roy Williams?

okay, just kidding, this definately sucks. He probably was instrumental in getting Miles Austin where he is now and could've taken Bryant to an even higher level alot sooner than most reciever coaches.

I'd have to assume RSherman wanted to move on. I can't imagine Jerry and Jason not wanting him back

Bummer!

The Dolphins supposedly listed John Garrett (TE's coach) as one of their OC candidates...well they can have Sherman now.

I must be missing something, Bowles is now a fake minority. The Dallas media again trying to stir up something but missing the facts in the process.

I dont think so, and I wouldnt be suprised to find out he left on his own to join another staff with some west coast team, again like the one getting put together in cleveland or possibly a staff fox could put together in denver if he gets hired.

He has been around forever and has ties to all of the west coast guys.

I thought he would leave and join grudens or fishers staff had they been hired somewhere.

I hate seeing Ray Sherman go, but I do like that it seems Garrett truly is being given the authority to make his own moves. It's been one of our longstanding criticisms of Jones' coaching staffs -- they don't have the authority to bring in guys they want.

i like Sherman ok, but i dont get the undying love for the guy....other than Miles can anyone name another WR that we have developed since Sherman got here? and even he had a ton of drops this season...and dont say Dez he was this good in college...i dont wish to lose Sherman but i wont cry either maybe garrett is tired of dropped balls, poor routes and seeing no improvement with guys like Hurd, Ogletree, and Holley

Lol. I was going to post this exact thought but it would have been a joke

not the Dallas media, just a few who always play this same card if you catch my drift....scruggs, hill and watkins. Newy hates garrett so he is going to take shots repeatedly at him every chance he gets....

he already suggested john garrett be let go because bennett isnt any good.

when you see stuff like that getting said you realize that none of those 3 media guys are worth a darn and should not be paid attention to. I learned that years ago. particularly newy and watkins. Both are awful.

This could mean several things,

1. Maybe Chryst is coming to the Dallas as the OC (or Garrett is honing in on someone else as OC)? It would have been a bit odd not promoting Sherman to OC, esp after JJ interviewed him as a HC candidate. And it could be that Sherman wanted to be the OC as Garrett has now been promoted to HC (i.e., natural progression in Sherman's mind).

2. Perhaps Sherman thinks he can land an OC job elsewhere, and Garrett didn't want Sherman to be the OC (because Garrett has someone else in mind). It could have been a mutual parting of ways as well.
