Ray Sherman not returning

Well this isn't very good. Dez said he went to either Sherman or Tashard Choice when he was hyped up. I don't want him pairing up with Choice who isn't good at controlling himself either.

Then Dez will have to find his big boy pants and learn to deal with things the right way himself

I could be missing something but what is Watkins trying to stir up by that post?

Well I believe Roy was on his way to a solid season until Romo went down. Yea I know "what if's" right? But before Romo went down Ray Sherman had this receiving core playing exceptionally well. Even Roy.

Care to explain how 5 of 7 picks Romo had were on dropped/tipped balls if they were playing so well?

I thought Dallas receivers were the stength of the team on offense...but maybe Garrett felt a new coach could get more out of them. Ray was darn good coach but he just wasnt a Garrett guy apparently. I have no problem with Garrett cleaning house completely and bringing in a new staff on offense and defense that emulates his style. If he TRUELY has the freedom to do that....I think Garrett is successful and here a long long time.

When his unit does not know their assignments, run sloppy routes, and cause about 10 INTs because of dropped passes damn right he has responsibility.

This is ridiculous as people blaming Kitna for dropped passes. Are you telling me you're putting blame on Witten, Miles and Roy dropping passes for INT's on Ray Sherman? And as far as sloppy route running I didn't see it. The only person I saw have sloppy route running occasionally was Roy towards the end of the season and that's on Roy who's been running those same sloppy routes since UT.

I don't either and I hope this is a Garrett move. But I hope he doesn't keep some of these underachieving coaches simply because they ARE his guys. You want to make a move for your own coaching staff? Fine. But Sherman wasn't the problem. Unless its personal.

One has to think about a few things: Austin even early in the year was not playing well-nowhere close to last year. Roy was. Dez had all sorts of troubles learning the system. Ogletree did not develope and neither did Hurd. Now maybe there is nothing there to develope, but still. Fact is that only one receiver started this year playing noticeably better while everyone else regressed. Dex-hard to tell where to blame his troubles. But the others definitly were not improved except for Roy. So I would call Sherman's results mixed. Now compared to virtually every other position it was great but standing alone?

Where the heck is the news that Dave Campo isn't returning?

This better be just the beginning of a coaching purge..cause if we let Sherman go and keep Campo/Wilson/Houck...i swear.. :bang2:

it's ok, Sherman will become a useless coach that we're glad to be rid of within the next 2 pages.

:laugh2: So clairvoyant!

Irvin as WR coach?

maybe?

Seriously people, stop this foolish speculation. Irvin is not hard up for money. He has two gigs currently, combine, pay way more than a WR coaching gig would and affords him a lot of time too.

Why the heck in his ever cowboys loving mind would he come to coach WRs for cowboys??

Irvin will be around Cowboys TC, due to his very close relationship with Garrett. And maybe even do some mentoring in offseason for Dez. Heck no way, no hell, he will ever coach. Get that thought out your minds.

Really hope this isn't the case.

Sherman was one of the good ones on our staff.

Can't say I like this move from Garrett. His first move is a bad one.

Campo and Huock remain, but Sherman's out?!

Oh brother... I guess Garrett has to please everyone with his coaching hires.

If you are going to critisize his coaching hires, at least wait till he finishes completes the hires. Second, let the guy fulfil his staff with what he thinks he is correct or likes. Not you or me or anyone else likes.

I liked Ray Sherman too and am puzzled by this move. But I am always willing to give Garrett or any other HC benifit of doubt.
