mcfadden is pure speed. when i watched him at arkansas i didnt see too much "uhh, ahh" "make you miss" in his game, he simply out ran everyone, and contrary to what people tried to say, he is no A.P.

Is it McFadden's fault if he out-ran everyone? McFadden averaged 5 YPC and, most of his games, his longest runs were around 20 YPC. According to the statistics, he was a work-horse, not a guy who was just speed. And he was running in-between the tackles, which also means good vision, so don't blame him for bursting through the holes and scoring because he had incredible acceleration. Plus, teams were set to key-in on McFadden, not Felix. If anybody was benefitting from a single player, it was Felix Jones, not McFadden. That is precisely how the coaches used Felix. McFadden took his starting job and kept it, and produced in the SEC in incredible numbers.

Felix though, seems to be a great player in his own right. His vision and movement in-between the tackles seems damn good.

And If McFadden isn't A.P., so what? If he is 85 percent of A.P., he is a beast.

Felix on the other hand is fast (not dmac fast) but fast non the less. Hes quicker, takes better angles, reads blocks better (although mcfadden isnt a reggie bush mental midget when it comes to block reading), and is a better receiver. Now do to mcfaddens unearthly speed, he was a better college talent than felix (though felix averaged over 7 yards a carry for two years) but felix had more football skills all along, and in the nfl where everyone is fast felix is less likey to be contained than mcfadden. Make no mistake we are better off having felix with this system we have, than mcfadden. Felix will be instant impact in some shape or form at any level of football, and whether its running between the tackles, outside pitches and sweeps, punt return, kickoff return, and receiving plays. That can not be said for mcfadden.

GREAT POINT:bow:

I believe the same thing could be said between Chris Johnson and McFadden in opposed to FJ and DMac....

Honestly i don't think anyone would be saying DMac is just speed if he was on the cowboys. They would be going crazy about how versatile he is but its cool every time a someone comes the cowboys they become instant Hall of Famers and the players that they were interested in suddenly becomes crap.

Mcfadden is better than Felix, point blank. But i still dont see what all the fuss was about with Mcfadden. He's not some franchise changing back or anything but he's good. Not on AP's level. But, Felix is my boy now and he doesn't have to be better than Mcfadden.

Not sure how you can say McFadden is better than Felix. In two years you will be laughing that you even said that. I'm laughing now. :lmao2:

Too early to tell, but McFadden is not going to be able to run as well in Oakland. Like many high first rounders, he may be a victim of his own success.

McFadden has gotta go some to beat Felix who gets at least 1000yards rushing this year. :p:

I think Chappelle is gonna be a major asset for us.

His first carry that he took in for a TD upped is avg/carry.

But yes... this will be fun :D
That's funny! I thought the same thing the first time I saw him on H/K! I was just waiting for him to do his "Rick James" bit in the locker room!!! :D

This a joke ???? You really can't be serious with this. I really don't want to get into how much you're wrong on this aspect however you're wrong. You have no clue what you're talking about and its obvious in what you post. Honestly you making it seem like Mcfadden was this bumbling idiot of a RB and just lucked up in what he did in college against the SEC. However your view of Felix is that he was this All-American RB coming off the bench????

Like lets be realistic for half a second DMac doesn't become an All-American RB in the SEC just because he can run fast. He doesn't become a Heighsman finalist 2 years in a row because he runs fast. He isn't selected #4 overall because he runs fast. Also Arkansas offense didn't give him the ball on the edge to take advantage of his speed like they did with Felix. Felix wasn't the one lining up at QB running the option.

first of all i didnt come here to offend you, but obviously i did, but the fact remains there have been many running backs that were outstanding in college and it did not equate in the nfl. Salaam, blair thomas (picked well before E. smith, heck Reggie Bush, Ron Dane) I think mcfadden is going to be a good back, but not the end all be all head and shoulders above everyone else in the draft like people were talking. I did not knock dmac, I just think felix is more of an NFL threat.

there is no way to prove it cause i am a new poster here, but i was tickled pink(for lack of a better term) that we didnt make moves to get dmac because i thought felix would be a better fit for this team, not to say that i dont like macfadden, i do, but I wanted felix.
