What we know

Randle is a good back-up RB, but not a lead horse. His mouth has written a lot of checks that he has failed to cash as of yet. He definitely has failed at taking the meat off the bone.

DMac was a desperation signing. He has had a few good plays, but for the most part has been quite subpar. He should not be on the roster. IMO, he is done.

Dunbar was a fantastic weapon as a WR. He was decent on draws, but was subpar with other running plays. As a returner, he left a lot to be desired, both with his execution and decision making. He is definitely missed in our offense.

Clutts is a barely average FB. There are other options out there, but we refuse to look into them.

I would cut Clutts and DMac before we play the Giants. Make a statement to the team that if you fail to perform up to standard, you need to go.

What we don't know

What will Michael bring to the offense. Can he be more than a short yardage, one carry a game back. Can he carry the load, give us good yardage on 1st down, get the tough yardage when they know we will be running, pick up the blitz, and catch it out of the backfield.

Is Rod Smith worth the roster spot. With his addition, does that make Michael the lead back, and Smith the short yardage dirty yards back? How is his blocking?

Maybe Michael and Smith bring some much needed OOMPH to our rushing game. Maybe they can solve our RB woes for this season and the future. My hope is that at least one of them makes a huge impact and we can get him long term, making the RB position less of a necessity in the 2016 draft.

I love me some Elliott or Henry, but I would rather use our first rounder on a RT, S, or QB.

Cut Clutts and Lucky but not Dmac, I think Dmac can do some of Dunbars roles. Throw Dmac the ball, he still has moves and speed. Let Michael run the ball !!!

Im hoping Michael takes the bull by the horns and secure the lead spot for 2015 and 2016.

If he does one guy who moves up my list in the draft is CJ Prosise. Converted to HB from WR this year and has been blowing up. Still raw as a runner but rare ability as a receiving back

another guy I like is Kenneth Dixon from Louisiana Tech.......if our current group can't get it done..............give me Henry and Dixon in the draft. Those two, with Dunbar will be sick to watch.

There's a kid playing RB for LSU that I would put in front of those two and in front of everyone else. Throw all rules, about a RB's short NFL career, out the window. Hands down, he's my draft target next year and I'm ignoring everyone else. - Leonard Fournette...all welcome to jump on the bandwagon with me.

I am already riding it along side you.
He is probably a top 5 player though.

Please stop.

nope, I think I will keep going.

he was desperation.....whether you agree or not. We could have had CJ who is tearing it up with the Cards, but instead we go with another underachieving Razorback.

like the other poster said, maybe we should move him to Dunbar's role.....maybe that could give him a chance to make a positive impact on the field.

Michael needs to be the power runner who gets about 15-20 carries, and then let Randle go back to being the C.O.P RB.

Let's hope Michael can provide the spark. The starting RB should be able to break some tackles, make some people miss, hit the hole hard and punish defenders. Randle is great in space but struggles with a full work load and reading his zone blocks consistently. He's an above average change of pace back averaging 6.7 YPC but as a starter over 6 career starts just 3.3 YPC.

This whole "meat on the bone" comment he made has been taken all out of context. And if you want to be honest....he's taken there hasn't been much meat on this bone when you are getting hit in the backfield.

the blocking this year hasn't been as good as last year, that is for sure.

Right. I think its a few factors to that as well. I think this line will get better as the year goes on but they need help from other skilled positions to keep the defense honest. They don't have that i'll say that.

Honestly.. I would ice Clutts before DMac but it's close.

It wasn't taken out of context.. there was intent and it was clearly understood. Less mouth and more action would have done him some good. Right now, I'm tired of seeing his all world 1st half/houdini 2nd half act.

DMC was not a desperate signing. I'm not sure how any would even remotely consider that a posibility. We liked him coming out of college and he was available so we picked him up. No one in the FO was beating the table or was pushing any panic button over that signing.

As for CJ, his role as lead back was due to injury. Now that Ellington has returned his role is already dimished. In fact Ellington started the game today. So much for tearing it up. I suspect his role will diminsih even further when the Cards start getting D. Johnson more involved with the offense.

I don't think smith plays at all. Barring injury. I'd like to see DMC as the returner. With Randle and Michael splitting carries. No running backs in the first round. The value isn't there. Esp when we need a QB.
