Let’s hope this is just lip service and Jerry can’t be that stupid. Also if Zeke has an ounce of pride you don’t go back to your old team as a backup taking a huge pay cut wearing a different number. Time for new beginnings for both parties.

Maybe he is trying to excite fans into buying the jerseys left over with #21 and they don’t want to change the name plate to Gilmore yet.

I wouldn’t doubt the motivation could be jersey related. Imagine the #15s he could sell?

You can make all the excuses you want. I’m sure he’ll remain injury free from here on out. If you refuse to see the overvalue and misuse because of it, that’s on you. Everything that happened to Zeke over the past 3 seasons was because the front office were still buying the feed me shtick! And 1 YPC is a lot. Pollard over the past few seasons should’ve been getting more work, and it probably preserves Zeke for games like SF. So absolutely the superstar treatment had a trickle down effect from too heavy a workload in his 7 seasons here.
And you can "buy into" your zeke hate.

Yes...I agree. Pollard SHOULD have been getting more carries. Coaches' mismanagement, like I said! Thank you for proving my point better than I could.

It's not Zeke's fault they asked him to play. Zeke is the type of player to not say no...or willingly sit on the bench.

If nothing else....you should give zeke credit for preserving Tony's career. Imagine if Tony had to block O-linemen and LBers' like Zeke had to do. Shame about the injury.

Disagree. Completely.

We have a role. The player would fill that role well. If both sides agree on a number, it makes too much sense to avoid it. Otherwise, letting emotions get in the way of reason.

I for one have no problem with a Zeke return so long as Pollard gets the featured role all to himself. Having Zeke around as a complementary piece and someone that can get 3rd-and-1 carries is not a bad idea. What I don't want to see is more 19 carry, 37 yard games for Zeke while Pollard sits unused.

He clearly lost a step and that doesn't seem to matter at all. Neither does the fact that the front office appears to completely overvalue what he brings to the table. It's been an ongoing problem for awhile now. I'll take young fresh legs at this point in time. Not a RB who already has almost 2000 carries in 7 years.

If he was suspended for drugs other than performance enhancing he would have been cut immediately.

It's not Zeke hate, it's a front office who completely overvalued the position and everyone is still buying it. That's exactly my point.. no one even needs to see any of these RBs take a snap to give Zeke back his job. They're finally churning the position which should've happened much sooner.

Nobody giving RoJo a chance tells me that many are overrating the confidence the staff has in Malik Davis. Rico Dowdle is somewhat of an unknown, but supposedly Malik Davis kinda quit on the team last year after he became disgruntled about not getting any carries. That, to me, is a big deal, because you never know when he'll decide to go half-assed out of spite.

I weather the suspension with Jones, and he's my 3rd RB this year simply because of his veteran experience.

I liked Davis, too. I thought he should have played in San Fran. But now I see why he didn't.
