Don't know if you fellas ever listen to The Lunch Break show at the official Cowboys website, but the other day, Nick Eatman and Derek Engleton were saying that they thought there was a good chance both Keyshawn and Glenn wouldn't be back. They said Key would have to work out his contract before coming back and they thought Glenn was expendable. I don't know how in the loops these guys are but I'm sure they're like Dale in that they work for the website and get to hear stuff we aren't privy to before they form their opinion. They also get much more access with the players, coaches, etc. and would probably pick up on something.

Just throwing that out there with the TO debate. We have Crayton and he's gonna be a good receiver in this league, but the Boys still need someone to replace those guys if they are in danger of leaving. As much as I hate TO for stepping on the star, I think a receiving core of TO and Crayton with Key or another vet could be a scary offense.

We need someone young. Why do we eat the cap space and then sign another aging veteran thats a head case?

I would sure hate to lose both Key and Glenn. Neither of them are gamebreakers, but they are good weapons that can get you some wins. Unless there is a lot better talent out there, I'd hate to lose either of them.

Also, with the lack of playing time Price is getting, I doubt he'd re-sign with us, as well. So, I'd highly doubt Parcells would be okay with letting three of our four receivers walk this offseason.

Plus, what if we let both Key and Glenn go, sign T.O. and he starts his crap up? We'd have no one else other than Crayton who's worth a damn.

If TO were to be brought in we could probably get by without Key but we would be nuts to let Glenn go. Glenn would eat up all the 1-on-1 situations he would be put in and this offense could become truly dynamic.

BTW, this does not mean that I am a strong proponent of bringing in TO. I just think that of the options, TO&Key or TO&Glenn, the TO and Glenn duo is more explosive.

I don't think we could afford to keep all 3 from a cost perspective, ST perspective and player development perspective.

I'd say any info they get is disinformation, and much of what I have heard from them has always been speculation, and frequently wrong.

If we make a run in the playoffs, NFC Championship or better, I have no doubts that these guys will be back, no matter what. And we won't need to worry about TO. Why mess up our chemistry?

Isn't Glenn just a little younger than Keyshawn? If I had to choose to keep only one of those guys, I'd hang on to Glenn. That's no knock on Key, but I think Glenn's shoes are harder to fill. Crayton could probably step in to Key's spot next year without too much of a drop-off, but its hard to imagine Price or a rookie putting up the kind of production we're getting from Glenn.

Also, we've got a winning program going here. I think the Cowboys will want to minimize the amount of turnover on both sides of the ball this off-season.

The only rason they would hesitate on Glenn would be if he gets injured between now and the end of the season. Other than that they would be foolish to let him leave.

Keyshawn is too close to Bill, blocks better than most players and will catch passes in the middle of the field. The only way he doesn't return is if his contract demands are too much for this point in his career.

That being said, one of these receivers will drop down the depth charts if not both for next season. Crayton should move up to at least #2 next year.

I agree that Crayton resembles Key more than he does Glenn, but I also think as they get older, Key will be able to adapt better than Glenn only because he's always been a big slower guy. Once Glenn loses that speed, it's all over.

That's fair enogh but Glenn has shown no signs of losing any speed or quickness yet.

It seems to be that speed players at WR and CB seem to be able to maintain their speed well into their 30s now (different situation at RB/TE where players get pounded) so I'm not sure how much we need to be concerned about this. The more worrying issue with Glenn would be injury.

However, if we keep using him as we do now and avoid him having to work the middle of the field he could be successful for quite a few more years.

The thing that I like about bringing in TO is how many 1-on-1 situations that would put Glenn in. We have routinely seen him get open deep with his great burst when is isolated out there.

Whaaaa?....

I can't imagine losing either of them, much less both of them. I guess there could be an outside shot of Keyshawn if he goes nuts over his contract, but I would doubt even that. And I think Glenn will be here for as long as he can play. He loves Parcells and Bledsoe, and they love him -- and he seems happy enough here.

If we thought we could be losing both WRs this year, we should have drafted one this year... Like the great Matt Jones!

(Just kidding about Jones... Sort of.)

They think Glenn is expendable? Have they even watched any of the games this year? Glenn is having a outstanding season this year and is our best WR by far.

Keyshawn is also still a valuable receiver who does more than just catch the ball.

I don't see us losing either one next season but I do believe we will look to draft a WR on day-1.

kj will have to renegotiate to stay but where is he gonna go? glenn i don't think has a bonus coming so i don't see the reason he would'nt be back. glenn is a game breaker, look at the eagles game.crayton is a fine player but we need atleast one of kj and glenn back and some youth

I think Michael Irvin's words still haunt us. We have some great #2 receivers but we still don't have a legit #1. Look at Glenn's numbers the last 4 games when teams have caught on. He was practically shut down against the Eagles with two man on him. He's not the kind of receiver like Irvin and TO who can still succeed against that type of coverage. I know folks hate TO, but I'd feel a lot safer with him on board. We're an easy team to figure out if the running game ain't working.

Yeah, but..but.. but he's going to be replaced by TO, and that's a no-brainer upgrade. :laugh2:
