Re: TO situation, the guys on Cowboys website don't think Glenn/Key will be back

Yeah, but..but.. but he's going to be replaced by TO, and that's a no-brainer upgrade. :laugh2:

Now darnit LaTuna, you're not allowed in threads that debate the receivers. We can't have an honest debate about our receivers when you're around cause ya have a super crush on one of 'em. ;)

I remember seeing in an interview where KJ said the only coach he would ever play for, from now on, is Parcells. He said when Parcells is done, he'll be done, so I don't expect Key to be leaving at the end of this season.

Super crushes don't stop me from understanding, or admitting, that Terrell Owens is a better receiver than Terry Glenn and Keyshawn Johnson combined.

But they also don't prevent me from understanding it's not MY super crush that matters, but BILL'S..and he ain't trading out his 'honeybunch" for no TO, no way, no how. ;)

I wouldnt be too surprised to see Key gone. simply because of contract issues though. I would be very surprised and saddened to see Glenn gone, because he still has the speed and doesnt even seem to be losing it. Would like to keep both at least til 2007. If Glenn goes, does that mean were resigning Price?

...tell what the future truly brings, but I cannot see us departing with the core of our receivers 3without having a back up plan that works for both the team and its coach.

If there was naything I would think is reasonable it would be looking to the draft and free agency for more youth at this position before we start sending Key and Glenn down the road.

They won't leave here until Parcells can find someone els at those postions he "trusts" - if he is the coach of course.

You never know what the future will bring.

Terry is signed THROUGH 2007 at a very reasonable price. He is 31, in great shape and appears to have lost nothing to his vast age. I believe he may be the youngest of that 1996 crop of wide outs..Key, Moulds, TO, Harrison, Muhammed. et al. I may check later if no one else does. And none of those guys are over the hill either...they won't be playing as long as Rice or Tim Brown, thank God, but they'll all be starting another few years, and my guess is they'll be around another few too as third receivers.

I figure Terry's got a minimum of two more good starting years in him, here or elsewhere.

But it'll be here for those two for sure if Bill is, I'd bet on that.

If we had no Glenn or Key next year I say TO/Crayton/Price and a drafted WR would be a nice combination. If we only have one of them (Glenn/Key) I say TO, Crayton, and Price to go with him. Either way who is the common denominator??? yup, TO......TO is a combination of Glenn and Key, he's fast and good and running routes, but he's also big and strong. Not to mention skill wise he's better than both of them! I've said before that I think TO can bring a lot from this team, and I think if BP thinks it can work, we'll have him here!

More whimsical banter regarding T.O. And now mediots and fans are saying there is a chance that our two most reliable WR's since Irvin and Harper (Key and Glenn) are expendable because of a contract issue with Keyshawn, and because perhaps Glenn is getting up there in age, therefore making him the most expendable of the two setting up a big pay day for a cancerous, franchise breaking, very troubled, THIRTY-TWO YEAR OLD wide receiver.

:lmao2: WHATEVER!!!

... I just think that of the options, TO&Key or TO&Glenn, the TO and Glenn duo is more explosive.

The problem with this concept is that there can be no duo at all concerning TO.

Any phrase that would infer that he would be "part" of anything (such as a duo, or team) is basically an oxymoron.

Just for FYI, and because this list of '96 draftee oldtimers is still SOOO amazing...will be interesting to see where they ranked at the end of 2005.

Terry isn't the youngest of the best of 96 - Amani Toomer is. He was born Sept, 18, 1974, two months after Terry, 7/24/74.

The next youngest is TO, hatched 12/7/73.

Then Moulds, nee 7/17/73.

Then Muhsin, 5/5/73.

Then Harrison, 8/25/72.

The oldest is Key, b. 7/22/72.

I think some of you are worrying about Key trying to re-work his deal, a little too much, his coach is Parcells, both have a great understanding of each other, and mutual respect, I seriously doubt Key acts like an ******* in re-negotiations

I would sure hate to lose both Key and Glenn. Neither of them are gamebreakers, but they are good weapons that can get you some wins. Unless there is a lot better talent out there, I'd hate to lose either of them.

Both Key and Glenn contributed greatly to the Cowboys' win on Monday night.

I do not see Keyshawn going anywhere. He did sign a 4 year contract. I do think T.O. is coming to Dallas. Not sure if Glenn stays or not but he could.

T.O. is also a dangerous deep threat so it would not be the worse thing if we lose Glenn. But somehow I think our WR corp will look like this in 2006

T.O.
Keyshawn
Glenn
Crayton
Copper

We are alot closer to being a Super Bowl winner then many think. T.O. gives us that big jump to getting their and taking it. Glenn might just wanna stay and be part of a Super Bowl winner.

If i can see what I am gonna say then I know Glenn will. With T.O. in Dallas you either double team T.O. or Glenn. Take your poison. A 3 WR set of T.O. Key and Glenn leaves 2 of them 1 on 1 if a defense wants to have any chance to stop the our running game.

This aint like Philly here where you shut down T.O. and you shut down the air attack. To many other weapons in Key Glenn and Witten.

So I think Glenn is gonna stay cuz he migth feel this team is almost there for some Super Bowls.

If all we do this off season is do a huge change on our OL and get T.O. it will be a great off season.

that's what the eagles said, look at them now...no rings and a schlitload of turmoil

Why would they leave? They are both under contract for reasonable deals.

Unless Key gets stupid about want to renegotiate, I see no reason why they both wouldn't be Cowboys next year.

Who are the other WRs in Philly besides T.O. That is the difference. We have 2 good WRs but not a real #1 WR.

Really what are you gonna do....double up T.O. AND Glenn while leaving Key and Witten one on one and then have to deal with our running game.

This is totally different then Philly cuz we actually have OTHER WRs that can burn a D.

Bringint T.O. here completely changes the way defenses have to deal with this offense.

TO had 117 yards receiving in the Super Bowl, and STILL, they didn't win, TO isn't that good man

Ok....well I guess I will not waste any more time with you on the T.O. thing cuz anyone who say T.O. is not that good....they just dont get it.

I guess it will take T.O. being part of holding up our next Lombardi for you to see you are wrong.

All T.O. has ever done is make average QBs throwing to him look better then they really are.

TO isn't that good to make up for all the team-ruining baggage he carries, answer me this, what has anyone won with TO? I don't see a ring on his finger
