Haha. What a great sample size. 6 whole teams with a 33% success rate.

Correlation isn't causation and anyone trying to find any trend with this sample size is just looking for reasons to complain.

Well I mean 15-1 seasons don't happen all that often and comparing one pre-salary cap to post-salary cap is pretty meaningless.

Nobody's complaining, but the small sample is just that. It is going to be small. And one loss teams do not have a great success rate.

Like I said, it may be nothing, but the numbers support the conspiracy theory. It is not drawn out of thin air.

I think the cap era makes a difference. Those 49er and Bear teams were loaded with Hall of Famers and All Pros.

For what it's worth. I consider Thursday's game a loss. It was a ****** performance. That could have went either way.

To some fans around here, we've already lost like 4 or 5 games already if not for luck. I don't believe in losing, except when you've lost too many, I do believe in tanking to get good players. But when you're on a roll, just keep winning. It's up to other teams to figure out how to beat you.
I don't think it is a question of teams figuring out this team. They are not hard to figure out.

Stop or contain the run. Don't make a dumb turnover to a team that has a hard time generating them.

We have had an incredible season with a very very young team, probably younger than any team that has had this kind of regular season success.

Prescott and Elliott are just kids, they are just having fun. I will say this, if this team does win a Super Bowl, it will be truly unique and remarkable.

Right. That's what I mean. The teams now are more susceptible to the upset because the talent gap is smaller.

I can only say I don't want them to lose but I would feel better entering the playoffs without a 15 game winning streak.

It would be the most amazing season I've ever seen. It would smack in the face of common sense. A rookie QB and no defense. That's the new championship formula.

And it wouldn't even be a backdoor route to the playoffs and get hot. No. It's the #1 seed. Best record in football. Super Bowl title. What?!

LOL!!! Losing is never a good thing. What's wrong with winning every game you play and thinking you are Superman?

Nothing.

Exactly.

I don't see that not expecting that is being unrealistic or a "hater".

It would be a season for the ages, literally.

That kind of thing just does not happen. Eventually the carriage turns back into a pumpkin.

Irvin has actually played the sport.

He has also been a Dallas Cowboy with the celebrity bright lights and the stardom/glitz. He has also been on a very young team that won a world title.

I would hope he is speaking from a different perspective than some other pundits.

Yes. You'd like to think that. But it makes me wonder.

I wonder if he thought the team needed to lose a game or two while he was playing? Just to keep the team humble?

Just wondering.

I thought we were going to lose to the Vikings. My feeling was basically that the Cowboys can't keep winning forever (and the Vikings can't keep losing forever). I'd rather the Cowboys win every week, but if we have to lose I sure would rather get it out of the way before the playoffs.

My preference is to win out the next 7 games, but if we have to lose, I would prefer that it is against TB and/or Det...anything to help other teams leapfrog the Skins / NY for the two wildcard spots. I really do not like the thought of facing NFCEast teams three times in a season.

As a player, in the heat of things, probably not. No true competitor wants to lose just for humility's sake.

But I bet if you go back at some teams with gaudy regular season achievements and ask some of them after the season, they probably would say in retrospect getting a splash of cold water might have helped out.

My thing is that the all-timer teams usually had some turning point. This team has yet to have that.

I just hope they are able to be oblivious to it because you know, with this franchise, it is hard to ignore success and drown out the noise.

It is already starting with power rankings and the sort, games getting flexed to prime time, more scrutiny and more hype.

If this were another franchise, the hype would be significantly less.

I don't want Washington or New York once the regular season is done either. The familiarity is tough to beat out more than a couple of times. Plus I think the Commanders match up very well, whether we want to admit it or not.

I would rather lose one more game just so I don't have to listen to all the morons some here and most on ESPN, stating that we could have gone 19-0 if not for TWill.

I am not convinced the defense is strong enough to hold up all way thru to Super Bowl. So for that reason I wan't this season to be as memorable as possible with maximum number of wins. I want fans, players, staff around the league to be concerned...very concerned about whats taking place in Dallas. A time will come for a true Super Bowl run.

We can lose last game of the year with nothing to play for. If we win the next two games....the last two games will be nothing to play for.

First it was Michael Irvin last week saying he thinks it would be good for Dallas to lose game and re-focus after pain of that loss. This week its Tony Dungy saying "The worst thing that can happen is winning in December but not playing well. You start believing your team is better than you are."

Articles are coming out basically saying Cowboys will loss to Giants and it will be good thing. I am not sure I agree with this thinking because there is nothing normal about whats going on in Dallas. Rookie QB & RB have never gone on this kind of streak in NFL history. So to speak - we are already off the grid.

No rookie QB has ever started a Super Bowl game. Super Bowls started in 1967 so it will be 50 years this January. Personally, this team has already exceeded all expectations and if they don't reach super bowl I will not be disappointed. Just keep winning and learning because I think we are looking at 12 win team for next few years with multiple shots at super bowl.

In the Cowboys case, especially with rookies, I'm not sure it's a bad thing to think you're better than you are. They rely on each other to do their jobs. This team is definitely unique.
