Ask yourself this:

Can I get a starter at any position other than quarterback where I have a need in free agency?

The answer is yes. If you have the cap space, you can fill any need.

Now ask yourself if you can get a starting quarterback? The answer is no.

Saving $6 or $7 million a year in a cornerback is a drop in the bucket in my opinion when Kaepernick, Dalton, and Tannehill are getting contracts for $100 million and guys like Cousins and Bradford are being paid over $18 million a year.

That is one solid post.

Isnt that what we do here state our opinion? at least that's what i thought at least with this being a forum and all and there are questions about everybody in the draft so that's and obvious point is who is Best Player

Yes, you're absolutely right. We all absolutely have the right to state our opinion and I would never want to give the impression otherwise. Sorry if I did.

What were Byron Jones stats in college? Did his stats merit a 1st round pick?

Not sure. Wasn't my job to keep stats that year.

But I do think he had a whole bunch of quarterback pressures but I have no way of proving that.

Couldn't have said it better myself!

Ramsey has a lot of upside at corner.

He's the best corner in this draft and he has just scratched his potential there.

Also, he saves us about 6 or 7 mill a year on paying a corner if he plays at a high level which I think he will.

Ramsey is a special player and the 2nd best player currently in this draft.

Best part is that he fills 2 holes on defense. If we have a CB go down he can move from safety to CB. If we think safety play is subpar, he is an instant upgrade. He provides flexibility and instant upgrades at both positions. Worthy of a 4

I went into the draft anti DB with the top pick.

I looked at what is projected to go high and the talent gap between Bosa and Ramsey is pretty wide imo.

Now some are high on Myles Jack but I'm not spending a top 5 pick on a 4-3 LB.

Also, the most important thing, I watched Ramsey play. No he didn't make a zillion interceptions but he impacted games.

You cant compare this guy to Mo either because Ramsey is a physical football player. He'll stop the run and not get bullied.

Ok. That makes since. I like Ramsey, Wentz, and Goff. Hope we get one of the three.

We should only draft guys from Texas Tech, West Virginia, and Washington State then.

Those guys get stats.

The draft is a projection. The good teams are better at projecting than others.

Is that a shot at the Air Raid? All those coaches are Leach diciples. Funny, now half the country runs a similar offense including Sonny Dykes who coaches Goff.

And mo Claiborne was the best defensive player in his draft.....

Kirwin

4. DALLAS-Jared Goff, QB, California Tony Romo has had three surgeries on his collarbone and it is time to invest in the future. Goff had a good Combine and is worthy of this spot in the first round. Many Dallas fans want a ‘now’ player like Joey Bosa, but remember, the team went 1-11 without Romo.

Miller

4. Dallas – Jared Goff, QB, California
Anticipatory pocket passer who fits well with how Jason Garrett wants the position to be played. He can sit and learn behind Romo, but teams are concerned about his hand size at the Combine. Goff could drop.

The only problem about Goff is San Diego trading to San Fran or the Rams.

Talking about not spending high picks on certain positions.
Houston sat at the top of the draft deciding over anybody
in the draft so they took a position player over BPA.

They took Clowney who appeared lazy from the jump before the draft.
There sat Khahil Mack but he was a MLB and common wisdom is you dont draft
a MLB at the top slot. However, who do you think they would rather have on their team?

One way or another you will pay for the QB position.... Might as well sit aside $25 mill/yr

If we draft #4 in 3 yrs we are in the hook for 20mil minimum.....develop & pay or start process all over

One of these days, some team will try the college approach of every 4yrs drafting
