The following is an example of unrealistic free agent moves.
Bring in Julius Peppers! Sign Matt Cassell to back up Tony Romo! Sign Nnamdi Asomugha! Bart Scott for an arm and a leg!

Some guys that we really could keep our eyes on.

QB: Kyle Boller, Rex Grossman, J.P. Lossman. I think we'll go with the draft to find one.

RB: Our stable is pretty full. I don't think we'll touch this position in the offseason.

WR: Devery Henderson, Bobby Engram, Shaun McDonald. We've already locked up too much cash in the position, Owens will be back - we might grab a speed guy late in the draft.

OL: Marvel Smith, Jahri Evans, Jason Brown. We need some quality depth, and hopefully a few young players with high motors in the draft to push our lethargic group of overpaid giants.

DL: Bertrand Berry, Rocky Bernard, Kevin Carter, Jonathan Babineaux. Looks like a bunch of used goods to me. Canty for 50 mill doesn't seem to logical. I seriously hope we address the DT position in the draft - hopefully with our top pick. Ratliff can make the move to end, I'm sure he'd be thrilled to face less double teams.

LB: Karlos Dansy, Mike Peterson, Jonathan Vilma, Channing Crowder. Bart Scott and Ray Lewis are going to be too expensive, and Ray too old. Except I've learned to never underestimate Jerry. Crowder would be a nice fit if we don't overpay for him, and his knee problems aren't too serious.

DB: Mike Brown, Brian Dawkins, Dawan Landry. Landry is young and has made an impact, would love to make a move for him - but I don't see the Ravens letting him wallk. Dawkins would be add some leadership and fire, but I'm worried about his wheels from banging on that terrible field in Phillly for 12 years.

With all that said, except for a handful of guys - this FA class isn't looking too good. This draft isn't looking too hot either. Great year to work on the addition by subtraction philosophy.

Our major priorities are DT, MLB, Safety, and depth at the o-line - and lets see which QB falls to us in the draft.

This is the way to go! One of the best posts I've read in a while.

Someday I hope that Jerruh learns that the NFL ain't fantasy football. We need depth badly.

I agree, a good list. We need to look for solid players to add depth and avoid the big names who add dissension.

Like I always say: Look for solid football players. No prima-donnas, no criminals, no headcases, no egos, no project players, no converted QBs or former baseball players, no me-first guys, no guys that are always hurt, just solid players that can fit in with the team and show up every week.

I am sorry but adding two players, Bart Scott and Dawan Landry would make this defense one of the best in the league. Each of them are both probably not going to be resigned by the Ravens, but they aren't going to cost what Canty costs...I would love to have those two on my team come next year...

I think each one of them will cost more than Canty individually. Especially Scott, he's going to get paidddd.

For some reason every time I see a FA list J.P Losman jumps off the page at me. I just get the feeling this guy will be in Dallas next year.

Well, at least he's an improvement over Brad Johnson.

Oh please no...this guy is probably the dumbest QB I have ever seen....brutal decision making or lack thereof.

I would add Justin Miller and Angelo Crowell (120+ tackles in '07) to the list. Miller is a gamble, but a heck of a talent and seemed to perform well for the Raiders. Crowell had minor knee surgery, but the Bills put him on IR because they felt he could have had the surgery earlier.

We dont need anymore star players, what we need is good depth.

I would mainly use the draft for this since we have 11 picks and maybe add 1 or 2 middle of the road free agents to bolster a position.

When you have 11 picks you can target players, Jerry did a good job securing that we'll be able to add some serious youth to both of our lines this offseason.

That whole Nors philosophy of we traded half our draft away for Roy Wi11iams is stupid.

Exactly.

I am tired of star players that care more about their personal stats than if the team wins or loses.

It is time to use those 11 picks and bring in some youth that is hungry to win. Maybe the young guys can push some of these stars into caring again.

I honestly, if it wouldn't cost a crap ton of money to do it, wouldn't be upset in the least if Dallas brought in Ray Lewis and Dawkins to add leadership, know how, and desire to this team. Obviously it's a short term fix, 2 seasons at the most, but it would give you quality players in some positions of need that would allow you to get the most out of the guys you have while grooming a young replacement right behind them for a season or two.

That wouldn't upset me in the least.

Landry is a restricted free agent. That means he will have a draft choice tender attached to him.

I thought Scott was going to kill someone... that dude may be the hardest hitting guy in the league.

I pray to the lord above that we don't sign Brian Dawkins. Every thing about him just stinks.

As far as QB goes....you left off Fitzpatrick and Orlovsky. I doubt either will be a starter next year and both played well in their limited time as backup starters.

I disagree about the RBs.......send the Cricket back to Time Square and bring in a real blocking FB......Lorenzo Neal. Then we can really utilize our power running game, behind our mammoth OL.

As far as LB goes....forget Vilma. Not only has he underachieved....now he has gone criminal. We don't need that nonsense after this past season.
