They are clearly better than the Rams, GB, Seattle , Philly, and about even with Det. If you can’t see that can’t help you.
They aren't clearly better than anybody if they can't run or stop the run.

Now answer the question.... what other team in NFL history who couldn't effectively run the ball AND who couldn't stop the run was expected to make it to the NFCCG or was considered a choker and failure if they failed to do so???

Or is this just one of them things that only the Cowboys are expected to do....

Name these other teams that had such lofty expectations with the same running game issues on both sides of the ball like the Cowboys.

I'll wait....

Dallas was horrible against the run last year and then they got Hankins. After that, they were fine with people talking about how great LVE was. Early this year, Dallas was good against the run with Bell and LVE and Clarke regularly getting good grades. Then Hankins went down and they can't stop anything.

Hankins sets the middle and gobbles up two blockers. That lets the LB's run to the ball free. His stats might not be great but his impact on run defense is huge. He is coming back. People want to downplay this but the eye test and the stats bear it out.

The run offense is a problem.

Everyone's on the bandwagon now. Seeing people say that we are as good as SF. Easily the 2nd best in the NFC right? We barely won vs the lions at home with the refs.

You guys are on the hype train, ready for a perfect derailment.

Anyone remember the Bills 3 weeks ago?

Someone will take CeeDee out of the game and you will see how useless Dak is without a #1 to throw too.

There’s only one team in the NFC that is better than Dallas and that’s SF. There is no excuse for not making the NFCCG
you're coming from a pessimist that's what somebody would say I get why you say what you say but any given Sunday any given Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday anybody can be beaten including the Cowboys and San Francisco but don't say there's no excuse for not making the NFC championship game that's you setting everyone up so you could say see I told you so... It's one game at a time that's how we play it it's a week to week league so we'll just keep it that way let's talk about Washington

Losing to the eagles , lions, or Bucs in the 2nd round at home would be a huge failure.
Wrong Mr. pessimist

you mean an Eagles team that already beat us once this year, the lions who had us on the ropes, I mean the Buccaneers they shouldn't give us a big problem it's any given Sunday bud..

you putting that lofty expectation so you can complain more in a couple weeks we get it you want to complain...

you're Stephen A Smith you're complimenting the Cowboys and setting you up way higher than they should be that way when they fall they crash really hard so that way you can complain much bigger we get it I see you we know who you are you're that fan you're purposely saying how great they are even though we've seen our offensive line our run game our defense all looked bad in mini games this year dude I don't know what you're looking at we are not a complete team yes we should be favored to win some of those games but it is not a lock it is not a total failure that's a pessimistic way to say you're going to complain when we don't make it to an NFC championship game and say I told you so that's not how real fans look at this it's a week to week league.

IMO, Hankins coming back is a much bigger deal than people seem to give it credence for. Dallas wasn't having trouble stopping the run (except for SF) until he went down.
This is why I would rest tyron Smith Tyler Smith and hankins for the Washington game I realize the Washington game is big but I believe we can beat them without those guys we need them dudes healthy. Not kinda healthy tyron is always one play away for missing the rest of the season and now with tyler's foot I don't know how that works and why we're not talking about that but he completely tore his plantar fasciitis and I don't know what that means for him but I would definitely want to not bring them this week to Washington... I know it's a risk we need to lock up #2 but at the same time we should be able to beat that Washington team without those three guys..

You know what he's doing he's doing the same thing Stephen A Smith does he's purposely overrating the Cowboys giving them compliments saying where they should end up that way when they don't he can complain even harder and Mr. pessimist can come in once were ousted from the playoffs and say I told you so look how bad they fell and they choked no they didn't choke we have a lot of weaknesses we can overcome those weaknesses but definitely we are not a lot to get to the NFC championship game.

He's not taking into account our run game is not very good because tyler's hurt tyrone's hurt Pollard has been underwhelming so yeah I mean we got problems and hankins coming back should help but we have not been strong in any phase the last month but we've been overcoming it to a point but we're not dominating... I guess this guy forgot we just lost the Buffalo and Miami even though the Miami game could have been winnable and almost lost to Detroit on a controversial call that would have been three losses in a row and all of a sudden we're the favorites...ughh it's a week to week league let's just talk about Washington and we can get into the playoffs and talk about that opponent once we know who they are....

With the inability to stop the run or ability to run the ball, what is the realistic expectations for this team? Dak bias aside, very rarely do you see teams that are one dimensional (Dak to lamb) have success in the playoffs. When you play good teams they take away your best option (SF/Bills) game. Teams rarely win multiple playoff games when your qb has to throw for 300+ in order to win multiple games. I just don’t see this team as multiple playoff game because we lack where it really matters. I think one playoff win is a success no matter what your standards are for this team. They have major holes in at key positions that it takes to win playoff games (oline). Just my own personal opinion
I don't see a big run in the playoffs with the team. First off, our playoffs start next week, the Boys have to beat a team next week that seems to bring their best effort when we play them in Washington. If we lose to Washington, both MM and Quinn need to be fired!

We recently beat the Eagles, Lions, Seahawks and Rams (less recently) who are all the teams we’re likely the face in the playoffs (not including Tampa assuming we win the NFCE). As embarrassing as the 49ers and Bills games were, the rest of the NFC teams we’ll see we’ve just beaten.

If you play the odds, we’ll lose to the 49ers in the NFC title game and they’ll lose in the Super Bowl.

Remember when the 49ers lost three in a row in October without Deebo Samuel? Brock Purdy is "useless" without his number one guy under your assessment too.

No run game, and the inability to stop the opposring run game, thus being one dimensional, we will -with luck- win just ONE playoff game and barely.
this team -and no matter how much it hurts to read it- is not even close to being champsionship caliber

Honestly it could go either way, one and done or they could win a SB. It greatly depends on whether Quinn prepped the Defense sufficiently for individual opponents. Everyone is going to try and punch us in the face with run game. If we do not have personnel of plan to stop that then our playoff run might be short.

The reason you like to see your team in the playoffs for consecutive seasons is because, even if they lose, the majority of those same players have gained valuable playoff experience. Hopefully, the Cowboys can avoid some of the previous pitfalls.

I like our chances at home. We have won like 16 in a row at home.
