Difference being that they were largely an untalented bunch on offense last year. That's not the case anymore. They actually have a running game now and some weapons at WR.

They are a much more balanced offensive team than last year's version.

Philly a free pass on third downs.
*Wench is on fire.
*Their special teams are becoming effective, if not special.
*The Egirls defense shut down the cardinals like a Cracker Barrel with no food handling permit.

Where are we?
We might be left hoping that the odious Cam Newton and the panthers can stop Philly's momentum.
If not, lads, the East belongs to the Egirls.

We are likely playing for 2nd place.

The gap in defenses between ours and theirs is stark.

They have an aggressive coordinator who has some front seven talent that can protect their weak CBs. We have a passive coordinator with more middling front seven talent who seems hell bent on playing a lot of deeper zones and soft coverage while watching QBs continue to eat us alive.

That's the difference now and will be the difference all year would be my guess. Offensively, the teams seem similar but defense and special teams separates us.

They are better than us at this point.

Again, the differences in defense and special teams is pretty apparent. Anyone denying that is probably not being objective at this point.

Will we be playing for 2nd place in the NFC East? Ask me again after the first Commanders game. This defense needs to improve a bit while the offense finds consistency. If our young pups can get healthy and learn from experience quickly in the secondary, and if our LB corps can get healthy to the point that Hitchins and Lee are the starters with Jaylon getting spot play, then I have hope of getting to 10-6 and maybe getting a wild card birth.

The Eagles are the clear favorites. We are struggling, but they are also playing a weaker schedule due to not making the playoffs last year while we are playing a first place schedule. They should win the East if they don't collapse.

Nay, laddie! Not quitting. Just being realistic about an emerging beast (Egirls) who reloaded and came up with a concrete wall defense and a baller of a QB and a bulldozer running game.
