Realistically, will we will be playing this season for 2nd place in the East?

Nay, laddie! Not quitting. Just being realistic about an emerging beast (Egirls) who reloaded and came up with a concrete wall defense and a baller of a QB and a bulldozer running game. Sir Jerry was so enamored of his offense that he thought scoring 30 points a game would suffice. He forgot the defense.q
But be my guest. You are still thinking Super Bowl. I am thinking that, objectively, we are second-best in the NFL East.
That was the question posed. Not to wound your hopes but to recognize our shortcomings, I.e. a milquetoast coach, a sub-average defense and a predictable game plan that is an NFL joke.
Sorry but giving up after 5 games is quitting.

way to early to be declaring anything. If Dallas beats SF and wins at washington which is something they have been good at they are right in it.

They have that three game stretch at home around turkey day and then games at oak and ny that look nothing like they looked in august.

This team can get to 10 wins and still win this division.

The eagles will have their troubles here sooner or later.

Why?
Let me count the ways.

*Eagles seem intent on being 3rd down bullies. It was as if the cardinals gave
Philly a free pass on third downs.
*Wench is on fire.
*Their special teams are becoming effective, if not special.
*The Egirls defense shut down the cardinals like a Cracker Barrel with no food handling permit.

Where are we?
We might be left hoping that the odious Cam Newton and the panthers can stop Philly's momentum.
If not, lads, the East belongs to the Egirls.

Cam will beat them

Really? So we have no shot at first. C'mon the Eagles are not all that and they will get smashed this Thursday by Carolina. It's a long season to crown the Eagles as king. Washington to me is the better team. But I still like our chances going forward.

Weren't the Eagles crowned in week 5 of last year only to come barreling back to earth?
Yes, that’s true, but Schwartz has that defense balling and Wentz really is starting to look like the real deal.

You certainly won't be playing for last place in the NFC East!! Oh boy!!! Anyone know where there is a WR?

Eagles already beat that better team 30-17. 2-0 in the division already. We almost have to beat them twice; we are not sweeping the Skins.

a realist!

Getting division wins is always tough. It could be tougher this season.

Between the eagles and Commanders

We take 3rd place

Maybe. I trust the Eagles to flop though, and Cousins will crash back down to Earth.

Still a long season left. We control our own destiny though, and 9 wins could very well get you in this year.

How exactly do fans quit?

Fans either pay money to buy a ticket to watch the game in person or they pay money for a TV or streaming service so they can watch the games sitting on their sofas. Either way, they are sitting on their arse watching events they have no control over, they are spectators and not participants.

The textbook definition of quit is "to cease or discontinue an act or action".

So by definition, how does one "quit" when one is not participating?

Quit supporting the team.

They may be overrated, but they are 4-1 and we are 2-3

Why are you laughing?
It's all nervous laughter at this point.
The odd thing is a lot of fans don't put much stock in standings at one-third of the season. Actually, it is a good indicator, not only in w-l but as to coaching, strategy implemented, short and long-term injuries, how the D and offense are playing.
(I can almost hear some fans running to the record books to prove how some Dallas teams went from 2-3 to win the conference or go to the Super Bowl. Good luck on that.)
