RECAP: Babe Laufenberg: Roy Williams hasn't played like a Pro Bowl player in 2 Years

And the madness continues.

Again, how can these guys (2 of whom were ex-NFL players) "ramble" on with such "idiocy"? Guess it's time to add their names to the continually growing, long list of professional "haters."

There's no way the guys can say these things — while not providing stats — and have it be true.

Perhaps, it's time to direct these guys to the expert opinions of some of the board members here, and THEN they'll be set straight.

Adam really got under your skin I see.

I mean, everyone knows former players are expert analysts. Just look at Emmitt Smith.

It just isn't a good day for us Roy apologists.

First, Laughenburg, Newy and Casillas and now this from Matt Williamson, ESPN scout:

Mike (Washington): My favorite part of the NFC pro-bowl team was that the waste-of-space Roy Williams wasn't on it. How was he 1st alternate.

Matt Williamson: I hear ya there. Undeserving, but...how many good NFC safeties were there this year? Small group.

Again, another name added to the list of haters.

Doesn't Williamson know that because there's a supposed "dearth" of safety options, that Roy is still great? I mean just because someone can't "name a better SS" doesn't mean squat! How could he suggest such a thing?

Don't worry, I'll email him and ask him to provide "evidence" of his ridiculous claims. Just one piece of evidence.

It doesn't take an expert analyst to see that Roy Williams used to be an elite difference maker, and now he's just a guy.

I'm with you brutha. Adam scared me straight with his expert insight.

Heck, I'm suggesting that we have these guys contact Adam, so they too can kneel before Zod.

I know. I feel so foolish and I'm such an idiot. I'm really having some self doubt issues now.

Guess someone better tell Jerry and our coaching staff that, so they can find us an elite difference maker. We can't be having this pro bowl JAG on our team, or we'll never make the playoffs with HFA throughout and a first round bye.

You don't get it. Dallas has to have a Pro Bowler and first ballot hall of famer at every position.

It stands to reason that fans should expect more from the highest paid players.

There's a big difference in an afterthought like Jacques Reeves playing poorly and one of the league's highest paid safeties doing the same.

You could say the same about any player on the team.

Bobby Carpenter is 13-3.

Exactly,Unfortunately he is just a guy making elite difference maker money.

Anyone with two eyes can watch a game from his rookie year and watch a game now and see the difference. The guy isn't even half the player he was as a rookie.

In my opinion, this analysis is quite valid. It's corroborated by virtually every analyst and pundit I've read or watched. Roy is not a bad player by any measure, but he's a player of extremes. He seems to do certain things very well and other things very poorly. Unfortunately, his deficiencies often make him a liability.

Well, you guys don't have large enough post counts on this board, so what you could possibly know about football?

:wink3:

A guy who never sniffed a Pro Bowl, slamming a guy who makes Pro Bowls. Go Figure.

Check again Tony was All-pro twice at NT.

He recorded over 150 tackles at NT in one year for the falcons.

He was a beast!

Well... Use Your Illusion wasn't half the album that Appetite for Destruction was, but here you are.

Bobby Carpenter isn't a starter.

I'll just leave it at this, if Roy Williams was even remotely as bad as alot of people here say he is, he wouldn't be starting on this team, year after year. Obviously, the people who see him every day have a different and more informed opinion than the potatoes on this board.

Cowboyz88, I was wondering, would you be willing to mis-characterize an argument, knock down the straw man you set up, act hurt about the reaction you get, and then complain about your post count in this thread some more? It's fun to read.

Thanks.

Has someone proclaimed your post count as a measurement of what you know about football? I pretty much read every thread, not sure I recall that particular discussion.
