Doesn't bother me. We've got alot of folks who lurk and don't post. Good vibes make people want to share their happiness with others...or in his case disappointment in the midst of the good vibes.zrinkill;1878247 said:Funny how that is huh. 13-3

First, Laughenburg, Newy and Casillas and now this from Matt Williamson, ESPN scout:
Again, another name added to the list of haters.
Doesn't Williamson know that because there's a supposed "dearth" of safety options, that Roy is still great? I mean just because someone can't "name a better SS" doesn't mean squat! How could he suggest such a thing?
Don't worry, I'll email him and ask him to provide "evidence" of his ridiculous claims. Just one piece of evidence.
ScipioCowboy;1878287 said:The source of the consternation here is that too many poster are overzealous in their criticism of Roy Williams.
He doesn't "suck." He's not a bad safety. However, he is rapidly becoming an average one, which isn't the expectation for a player drafted in the top 10 overall and paid like one of the best safeties in football.
In fact, when I rank the the Cowboys' defensive players, Roy isn't even in the top half. Please note that the following rankings are only my opinion.
1) Demarcus Ware
2) Terence Newman
3) Greg Ellis
4) Ken Hamlin
t-5) Jay Ratliff, Chris Canty, Anthony Henry
t-8) Roy Williams, Bradie James
10) Marcus Spears
11) Akin Ayodele
baj1dallas;1878294 said:who ever claimed Roy was great? You don't exactly have to be great to make the probowl as an alternate. Who exactly do you think is a better strong safety in the NFC?
khiladi;1878297 said:What the freakin' hell... No Jacques Reeves at number 2, behind Ware... and Ware would be my #1, only because I heard that Stanback's stint at CB is going to start next year...
CaptainAmerica;1878377 said:Roy himself said on the Jim Rome show that as he gets older he can't, on every tackle, deliver the hits he used to deliver and that he had to protect his body.
The bottom line is he just doesn't want to get hurt and his play reflects it.

I'll just leave it at this, if Roy Williams was even remotely as bad as alot of people here say he is, he wouldn't be starting on this team, year after year. Obviously, the people who see him every day have a different and more informed opinion than the potatoes on this board.

His play? His play requires him to hit hard?CaptainAmerica;1878377 said:The bottom line is he just doesn't want to get hurt and his play reflects it.
If you had a larger post count, I might care about this.Cowboyz88;1878395 said:Believe it or not, I actually LOVE being 13-3 and our playoffs potential.
recap's on here somewhere. Search for Roy on Jim Rome and you might find it.mickgreen58;1878382 said:Interesting.
Would love to see/hear that interview.
I would never question your love for the 'boys and their success. Wouldn't be on here if you didn't.Cowboyz88;1878395 said:Believe it or not, I actually LOVE being 13-3 and our playoffs potential.

I think that's been obvious, though I hadn't heard that he said that.CaptainAmerica;1878377 said:Roy himself said on the Jim Rome show that as he gets older he can't, on every tackle, deliver the hits he used to deliver and that he had to protect his body.
