Okay, 18-hour-old recap...
Thoughts on last year?
Last year we wanted to go to the Super Bowl and we were disappointed we didn't make it. It was still a good year and we improved. Last year we learned how to win; this year we need to learn to win at the right time.
What do you think about having 13 Pro Bowlers?
It's great. We have a lot of talent on this team and they're all coming back.
Thoughts on PacMan?
I don't know, honestly. We have a great group of guys and the thing is, we're all accountable to each other. On the optimistic side, he's got a lot of talent. But you hope you don't push the balance too far. I've never met the guy so I can't say how he would fit in.
Who are the leaders on that team to help him?
That's a big misconception, that someone has to lead everyone. This ain't junior high ball. We're all grown men and paid professionals. But we are accountable to each other. The leaders I'd say are me -- God gave me the ability to play middle linebacker. And in the secondary we have good leaders in Ken Hamlin and Terence Newman.
What do you think about Romo's growth and maturity? I don't mean the Jessica/Mexico thing at all.
Romo is a great player -- he can be my quarterback any day. I call him the Magic Man because he's so spontaneous out there and can make plays out of nothing. Hopefully he can keep growing and next year we can get that playoff win.
======================
I thought the Pacman response was pretty interesting. Not a blanket endorsement or company line at all. In fact, he seemed a little unsure of if he wanted Pacman or not.
Like Green and Clayton said after the interview, though, at Tennessee he almost became a "leader" by default, from being such a high pick. Here, he wouldn't have to be that -- almost like Moss at New England.
