If we play anyone else are we one and done?

We weren't playing great end of the season. At least not as well as we were playing around mid-season, IMO.

Maybe injuries also contributed to the problem (Romo's finger, TO), but we weren't playing as well.

what do mean?

I mean its not like anyone else could beat the Giants.

The biggest upgrade this team will get is another year of experience.

We had an experienced team last year.

Our OL is experienced. Owens and Witten have plenty of experience. Newman, Henry, Williams, Ware, Ellis, James, Ayodele have plenty of experience.

We had plenty of experience. And we still lost.

we beat them twice last year and we beat them statistically in the 3rd meeting. we made mental mistakes. if anybody was capeable of beating the giants in the playoffs it was us. we match up very well with them.

but theebs man you dont know anything about the guy other than a radio interview and what you read in the paper. he made some mistakes and he did some stupid and borderline awful things but everyone has done things they are not proud of. the point is that he can change what hes about.

Now granted he may not but if he can make himself a better man thats a good thing that I would think you would want to see. Then he can be someone you dont dislike everything hes about.

i guess I have a different vantage point on things. in my younger days I was involved in endeavors that were not approved of by law enforcement. It was lucrative but also I had several friends that ended up incarcerated and dead.

I finally realized that if i continued down that path anymore i was going to end up like that myself. I put that behind me, distanced myself from the people that i associated with including my friends, went back to school, got my degree and if you met me you would have no idea the lifestyle that I had 6 years ago.

i am no longer that person. quite plainly it can be done.

Now i realize that we have zero impact on what actually happens but when dealing with people like that who truly are trying to make changes for the better the worst thing you can do is turn your back on them. Youre forcing them back into that lifestyle.

I realize that you probably think hes just providing lip service saying that he wants to change and that he was sorry for the mistakes that he made but can you truly say that you are 100% sure of that?

Of course take things with a grain of salt but to just write him off to me is the worst thing you can do. If everyone were to do that then truly he would be a waste in each and every sense of the word.

fuzzy I see where you are coming from. I just dont know what you want me to say. No two people are going to see this the same way.

I respect what you are saying and you are entitled to it, I have zero issues with it.

At the same time though I dont like the guy would rather not have to root for him. Thats all. Not much more to it than that. I dont know what else to say.

I may not understand your position but i do respect it. Like you said, not everyone is going to see things the same way.

I took 2 things from that interview.

1. Roy Williams is a piece of trash plain and simple. Ken Hamlin outplayed him and was the leader of the defense in his first year, sad.

2. Our goal always seems to be to GET to the super bowl and win A playoff game. How about our goal be to actually WIN the super bowl?

Come on James, a true leader would never label himself as a leader when asked that question. I've always come away with James' comments and actions with sort of a bad taste in my mouth. It's almost like he really, really wants to be a leader so he tries really hard to do it. But that is not how one leads. Either you got it or you don't, and I really don't see James being a great team leader.

He was elected captain of the defense, and he was pretty fiery last year... but he did fade a little by the end of the season...

I will give him the benefit of the doubt and say that he was a leader of the team the last few years.

But the team has seriously underachieved and fallen apart in the most important parts of the season, so like real life, I want new leadership. Just b/c you are a leader does not make you a winner. James has lead an uber-talented but ultra-underachieving D, make of that what you will.

I wish Bradie would be quiet and stop trying to put a leadership hat on himself.

Funny how nobody else says these things. This is like the 2nd or 3rd time Bradie has said this about himself.

Ware/Hamlin/Newman are 10x the player Bradie could ever be. They lead by example and don't need a microphone to acknowledge the fact that they do.

Shh Bradie! Just play.

James seems to not understand humans very well. While he may not want to deal with those that need to be led to succeed, that simply means he does not have what it takes to lead. Not all people are self motivated. Some people need direction that they do not find within.

In the words of Tom Landry:

"Leadership is getting someone to do what they don't want to do, to achieve what they want to achieve. "

You do not do that by sitting back complacent. Instead you need to take an active role in what those you lead do. I can just see James in the midst of the December malaise saying "this isn't junior high where players need to be held by the hand."

A guy like Ray Lewis would have been tearing heads off for complacency, browbeating them into doing what they don't want to do so the can achieve what they want to achieve.
