You're so right. The media will spin whatever it can to sell sell sell... and some eat that **** up like hot buttered popcorn.
Your right... The point of Marshall Faulk is there is a racial element in the lack of Garrett scrutiny... Garrett was doing just as crappy a job as Stewart, but the media wasn't talking about Garrett...
It only happened at the end of the year, when grumblings against Garrett became more pronounced, from people besides TO. Before that, TO was at it again. Even then, when TO was grumbling, it had nothing to do with race. Even before the interview the Deion, he was making statements about how this offense was figured out. He alluded to how he is most successful when put in motion. Every comment he made was in regards to scheming.
The crap hit the fan for Garrett, when Tony Romo finally came out and took shots at him.
Since that happened, the media had to back-track and still find a way to slam TO, because they had invested so much in their story regarding him. So they shifted to TO being such a strong personality that he even influences people against Garrett. But anyone with an ounce of common sense realizes that something is wrong with Garrett, when even the future number one receiver, who ran the same system in Detroit and frankly, in different words, said it was stupid to assume that he didn't know the offense, called Garrett out.
An interesting aspect is people tried to blame RW 'injury', but the whole season he never once complained about it. He did complain about his lack of involvement in the offense and their not trusting him. He also had plenty of spectacular catches in the beginning of his time to prove that he was ready. We often saw him, at the end of the year, yelling at the sidelines when he caught a pass, saying to throw it to him. It was like, if you brought me here to help you win a Superbowl, then throw it to me moments...
