Was the "Dr. Jerry" thing a dig at Jerry? Haha, I'm sure Wade isn't pleased he's been saying he doesn't know all week and Jerry comes out and says yes, he's going to play.

Wade = Switzer II

He has no say so.

Romo's got that, "Oh man! I've got Owens, Witten and Roy to throw to! Hot-diggity-dog! I'm playing coach!" look now. My only hope is that the team's doctors have evaluated him completely and advised him totally on the risk.

God I hope Wade was joking ..... if not then I might have to apologize to Bach for arguing with his "puppet" theory.

That sounded pathetic.
I'm thinking it's the fact that Wade wanted to keep the Rams guessing and Jerry goes out and blabs...

I only saw a couple passes on TV that Romo threw at practice and they looked terrible. If we can't beat the Rams with Brad Johnson then why the hell is he our backup?

Well, we thought if they could externally fixate that fracture and still allow him to throw well, then the risks of playing would be worth it. I didn't think that was going to happen and gladly they proved me wrong.

But unless that fracture is barely detectable then there is risk involved. I'm certain of that. But it sounds acceptable.

Hopefully this turns out well. I don't think they're afraid of playing Johnson but you're not going to play your backup QB if your Pro Bowl starter can go. That's all that is and not the extreme of he's afraid they will lose if Johnson plays. They may lose with Romo playing.

And I doubt this is nearly as much as Romo wanting to show leadership of the team as it is he wants to be on the football field every game. No decent player wants to sit and watch. But it still sends a message to 'his' players.

I predict a very big game for the Cowboys. Romo playing is a big shot in the arm for those guys, IMO.

It's such a stupid risk to allow Romo to play with a broken finger, if they (foolishly) let him do it, I'll just hope his finger doesn't get worse.

It's not his finger but I understand why you think that when BSPN is broadcasting he has a fractured pinkie every few minutes.

Jerry is like that friend you have who cannot for the life of him keep a secret.

He'll just burst it out from excitement.

I haven't watched ESPN but I thought it was his finger. What is it?

Good ..... Wade is real hard to understand his intent just reading what he says.

Stop being so reasonable and logical. Many here don't want that. It interferes temporarily with their agendas.

Yep.

I dont get jerry. He makes training camp a reality show. There are tv shows on 5 days a week basically from the blue star media.

The team is always in the spotlight because of Jerry and when little ol norm asks some common sense questions to jerry about pacman...He hangs up.

You cant have it both ways.

What more needs to be said? Everyone knows what the deal is, and I guarantee nobody is more disappointed or embarrassed than Jerry.

He talked about the Pacman situation, and Norm was pushing the issue. Yes, hanging up was a bit childish, but after the week this entire team has had I can't say I blame him.

Seem's to me Jerry is emotionally invested in Pacman. He can't let go. I remember Tom Landry used to say that he always kept a distance with his players becuase he realized that one day would come when he was going to make a decision to part ways with them. Jerry hasn't learned that lesson in the 19 years he's owned the team and has paid dearly for it, financially and emotionally. Jerry needs to think with his brain and not with his gut on this one. He's still has the strike oil mentality. It's not all bad since he wouldn't be where he is today without it. But in this case, this hole came up dry. He needs to cut his losses and move on to the next one.

I think the one thing no one has mentioned is that when you aren't at a 100%, you utilize other parts of your body to compensate for your injured part. Pretty simple concept.

I worried about addition injury to the pinky. However, I am also worried about him hurting his arm/shoulder with a possibly altered delevery. As a very competive pitcher in my day this can happen easier then you might think.

It seems like the team is almost afraid to play Brad Johnson.

It may appear that way to some. Fundamentally it’s just that we obviously feel that Tony gives us the best chance to win. That’s obvious. So do we give ourselves the best chance to win. This team beat the Commanders last week.
yes we are afraid. Brad is this year's version of Brandon Hugh 'Babe' Laufenberg.

That is a good point and I have wondered about elbow/shoulder issues.

He has a semi quirky side delivery.

His release is faster than a 6 inch bruce lee punch and I hope nothing happens to his elbow if he is over compensating.

Romo:

- a question two days before the game as to whether he can hand off or not. Didn't even try it in practice so that shoots that "we'll run down their throats" theory;

- if that is the gameplan, Johnson can't do that?

- we're playing the Rams

- further injury - yes, on any given play it's possible for Romo to get hurt, however, for a QB who may be hit or sacked and has to fall, who may throw and hit his hand on someone's helmet (a common occurence for QBs), to me, it's not worth it.

Pacman:

- what's wrong with Jerry simply saying "we gave him a shot and he couldn't hold his end of the deal..." Yes, some will still say he goofed, etc., but move on. Furthermore, I saw that Pac was "considering" whether to go to rehab. Ok, first of all it's mandated by the NFL for consideration of his reinstatement; secondly, it just shows me ONCE AGAIN that this guy does not get it. Let it go, Jerry.

For those in favor of this I have a queation for you. How is he going to break his fall when someone hits him?

The hand to the ground helps you break the impact to your elbow and or shoulder.

This is a stupid move, period. There are so many reasons to not play him it is not funny. The chances to get a seperated shoulder because he does not break his fall properly when some 300lb guy hits him has increased 10 fold.

You gotta give Johnson the chance to go in and do the job you are paying him to do. This is arguably your easiest game of the year and definitely the easiest one left.

We've resorted to keeping the Rams guessing now? What is going on here?
