RECAP: Jerry With Norm..."It appears Romo is going to play"

norm and jerry are friends and I have listened to norm talk to jerry for 6 years. I have never heard him just hang up on him.

norm seemed a little stunned.

What a week.
I noticed last week when Norm was asking about the Pacman case, Norm almost seemed a little whipped at the end and even said "Thank you for your time, sir." And Jerry just gave him a cold little, "You bet." It wasn't the normal back-and-forth at all, at least not by the end of the conversation.

If Jerry just hung up today, he should be ashamed. It's perfectly reasonable to ask about this headcase Jerry brought in and his effect on the locker room. And it's not like Norm is Ed Werder practically fabricating stories every day on national TV.

Yep.

I dont get jerry. He makes training camp a reality show. There are tv shows on 5 days a week basically from the blue star media.

The team is always in the spotlight because of Jerry and when little ol norm asks some common sense questions to jerry about pacman...He hangs up.

You cant have it both ways.

This has been a very long week for Jerry. Cut him a break. If he hadn't counteracted the pacman crap with a signing of RW we would all be here sulking in the deepest doldrums right now.

PacMan just embarrassed him and Jerry doesn't really have any spin to put on it.

The truth hurts.

Jerry has brought so much unneeded attention and backlash to an already fragile team and he knows.

We didnt need that guy and he never fit with the type of people on this team.

Jerry has to take his lumps.

NOt me.

Pacman being shown the door put a smile on my face for the week.

RW was just icing on the cake!

ignore him bro

how can you take your off to him.

He needs to stand up and be accountable for bringing the guy in. Norm was asking pretty simple questions.
What more can Jones say? "I was wrong for signing him?" He's never going to say that, but he has been repeatedly questioned about the ramifications of what Adam Jones' newest suspension means to his team and it's what we already know:

1) Lack of solid veteran depth at cornerback
2) Lack of playmaker potential at returning punts

Based on his play, I shouldn't have even typed number two. He will be missed at cornerback, but luckily Jones prevented utter disaster due to number one by drafting two good rookie cornerbacks in Jenkins and Scandrick. He did a good job as GM to cover his bases [edit] *in addition to signing Adam Jones, so, other than a "confession", I don't believe there is anything else he can say publicly on the Adam Jones issue.

I apologize then .... I did not pick up the sarcasm.

Yeah, you say that now until he fumbles 3 times, overthrows open receivers and possibly hurts himself more.
That what your crystal ball says? You staking your reputation on it?

Oh so you weren't worried one bit about playing a Rams team that has renewed confidence with the knowledge that Romo, Felix, Pacman, and TNew would not be on the field??? Icing on the cake? Hell. RW is going to finally open this offense up and allow it to breathe like the beast that it is. It's more than just icing on a cake.

I know you were happy when word came down about Rainman. That's well documented. I wish he could have helped our team and I commend Jerry for making his best efforts to improve this team. No regrets. I just think some people are so hard on Jerry when all he wants to do is get another Lombardi (like most of us here).

Wade is just a ship driver. He is Switzer Squared. The sooner we move past him and get a real coach in the spot the sooner we can actually get on with the business of winning another Lombardi.

I don't agree with you very often but :hammer:

My guess is, the first fumbled snap or slip of the ball out of Romo's hand will have Brad step in for him.

Now THIS, Deion could call desperate

It's such a stupid risk to allow Romo to play with a broken finger, if they (foolishly) let him do it, I'll just hope his finger doesn't get worse.

I don't like this idea one hit on that hand could be all that's needed to end his season. It's just not worth it against a team we should be able to beat easy even with Brad

If Romo can handle pain he'll play, Jerry says

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones says if his Pro Bowl quarterback Tony Romo can handle the pain, he will likely play Sunday against the St. Louis Rams.

He also said, on The Ticket this morning, he can't reinjure the broken pinkie, because of the amount of protection. Jerry said the decision comes down to Romo and if he can handle the pain. After throwing on Thursday he apparently felt pretty good.

"We'll see how Romo feels and that will be it," Jerry said. "It will be to how he feels Sunday. It will be up to him. If he's feeling good and the pain is good then it's likely he'll play. And he felt good yesterday.'

Jerry was asked in the pinkie could be reinjured.

"No," Jones said. "He's got a very good cast. He's got a very good system that allows him to throw the ball and a lot of protection."

Wade Phillips said whatever Jerry said is what he is going with when he heard of the comments.

"Dr. Jerry," Wade said. "Whatever Jerry said I'm going with."

There are no easy wins in the nfl.

They are pretty much dreadful against the runthough. IF we dont run it 40 times and put it right down their throat sunday regardless of the qb, something is wrong.

Just the fact that Romo's on the field poses more of a downfield threat for St.Louis's D, and that should open things up more for Marion. They're 30th in run D. I don't think Romo needs to throw for 300 in this one if the O-line is ready to dominate.

Was the "Dr. Jerry" thing a dig at Jerry? Haha, I'm sure Wade isn't pleased he's been saying he doesn't know all week and Jerry comes out and says yes, he's going to play.

God I hope Wade was joking ..... if not then I might have to apologize to Bach for arguing with his "puppet" theory.

That sounded pathetic.

Choice should break a couple of good runs!
