Receivers Not Getting Open

Romo used to scramble forever til someone got open. He had the same problem.

With Romo, it was a feature, not a bug, because Romo could do more.

Romo would scramble while keeping his attention downfield. He'd use his feet to complete passes.

Dak uses his feet to avoid sacks, but he loses attention on the receivers when he does it. Unless he's running from all the defenders in the same direction, like rolling right away from them all, they seem to occupy too much of his mind for him to be effective throwing the ball.

The flip side occurs too. When he's paying attention to the receivers, he lacks pocket presence, letting defenders get on him without seeming to be aware that they are that close. He's doesn't effectively stand in the pocket and complete passes with hits coming either.

+10

This "receivers not getting seperation" is becoming a myth and a convenient alibi.

Hate to break the news: Dak is not a good throwing QB.

The WRs are mediocre.

Dak may be a poor throwing QB but this WR corps is a bottom half of the league group.

There was nowhere for Dak to throw the ball.

Wrong. Ever notice how receivers must come to a stop in order for Dak to consistently hit them where they can actually catch the ball. This isn't college and Dak is waiting for wide open spaces, it doesn't happen like that. Dak has to throw the ball where the receiver will be in stride and to where only the receiver can get it. Guess 2017 doesn't look so bad now after all.

Let me go down the list.

The front office abysmal.
The coaching staff is terrible.
The QB is terrible.
The offensive line is terrible
The running back is good.
The tight ends are horribly terrible.
The defensive line is okay.
The linebackers are terrible
The secondary is good
The safeties are terrible
The special teams are terrible.

I don't know how they'll be the rest of the year, but this is my assessment from this game.

Let me make it easy for you:

the Cowboys are terrible.

Absolutely. The statement was about the scheme. Romo bailed out the scheme.

How does any one know this is true?

Its not like we can see the WRs on the broadcast. For all we know, Dak isn't seeing the field well, anticipating guys coming open or hesitating.

Aaron Rodgers completed a couple of passes tonight to receivers who did not have “separation.”

They showed them once or twice, and it showed an absolutely terrible scheme. They basically ran out a few yards and turned around. It was disgusting.

Scary part was....in the end...Dak was locking in on Deonte Thompson. The guy missed most of training camp. :omg:
