Multiple people in the Cowboys organization? Darren Woodson and who? The other poster posted a fake quote from Parcells. Garrett was the biggest politician in that suite last night, I can't take anything he says seriously about his golden ticket to employment.

This thread has gotten out of hand which is fairly par for the course anytime anyone has anything remotely questionable to say about one of our sacred cows. I think some of your points are valid except the one above. Rono's always been described as a "gym rat." I remember Parcells mentioning it as well as others.

Right now, Romo's out of shape and I don't think there's any question it's because of the back surgery. He was also out of shape when he entered camp last year after the surgery to remove the cyst. If you Google, you'll find various reports about Romo's shape (or lack thereof) over the years and even one rumor where Garrett supposedly gave Romo the business about his conditioning which was kind of surprising to me but we can question the veracity of the articles.

In any event, Romo put on 16 pounds last year (or so it was reported). I think that's a red flag for a premiere athlete. Romo is not in the same shape he was when he first entered the NFL and the only thing I find concerning about that is that being elusive is part of his game. He'll be 34 years old to start the season and he's had injuries and what seemed to me to be a decrease in arm strength last season that affected his ability to throw the deep pass. His conditioning is a valid topic but it won't be settled in the off-season after he had back surgery.

Tony has probably been eating too much Blue Bell.

Or he goes for the happy hour at Sonic.

If he comes into the season out of shape & his game is impacted he'll be booed louder than Jerry on his HD monster.

He has a few months to get in great shape.

If he came into the season and tip top shape any mistakes will still be booed. You don't see that often were a QB can put up 31 TD passes vs only 10 ints and get booed. A guy who will play through pain and yet be so disrepected by so called fans.

Fair post. The only thing I'd counter you on is if he is being described as a gym rat, why are we seeing the weight fluctuations, why would Garrett have to chew him out, and why has he gained considerable body fat since the early part of his career? These are things we shouldn't be noticing from a gym rat. If he was a truly a gym rat, threads like these would never exist.

FWIW I'm not the only one worried about his weight. Broaddus and the DC.com gang brought it up too in their final show after the season ended.

Dude trust nothing Garrett says about his golden ticket right? Lol

Oh well. That's life in his $100 million dollar world. Booing has never bothered me. People pay for their seats. If they want to boo they have that right. He shouldn't let that bother him. It probably doesn't.

True fans can boo if they choose. They booed Merideth, they booed White heck they even booed Aikman. For me I have never seen the upside of booing a player. That does not mean I don't get upset with them when they make a mistake but I would rather encourage a player and hope he puts the mistake behind him and refocuse on the task at hand. I know some will not agree but mistakes by the player is harder on them than the fans so why would I want to pile on?

He's human. Nobody likes being booed.

That being said, I've never used the fact that I pay for my seats as a reason to be an ***. Because if I felt that strongly about it, then I wouldn't be there. That's just me, tho.

I agree. I guess I put myself in their shoes I make a mistake that hurts my team and my teammates it is a pretty harsh feeling and if you notice the immediate support comes from those same teammates they tell them to shake it off as a fan I too want to see that player shake it off knowing mistakes will happen and while you can't undo a mistake you can do a lot to overcome it and booing to me is just not a great means to do that.

I don't correlate being a "gym rat" with being a premiere athlete. He can be in the gym playing hoops all day, every day but that won't necessarily get him in football shape. I would think eating right, lifting and cardio would be part of any athlete's regiment in the off-season.

He's had two back surgeries in two years. There's no debating that he's out of shape no matter what people here say but I think how he shows up this training camp after a full off-season will be more of an indication of where he's at than anything.

Right now all I want him to do is to continue doing what the Trainer is telling him to do, Right now based on reports Romo is on schedule with his rehab and should be ready to go for camp. Last thing he or this team needs is a setback.

Yea to each his own.

All I'm concerned with is Tony's back, not his stomach. If his back is O.K. we're going to be set at QB for a few years, at least, IMO.

Yes but if he has no stomach that means he has not guts....or some other lame thing to whine about.

Looks hung over.

This is the guy who will need to put up at least 40 points a game because of the lousy D we will half next seasons.
