Was looking at Dane Brugler's seven-round mock (which I believe has been posted here) and decided to use his picks to determine who I'd take in each round if it fell that way.

12. WR Matthew Golden (stuck with Brugler's pick even though I badly wanted to take Derrick Harmon)

44. RB Quinshon Judkins (also stuck with Brugler here since we need to make sure we hit on a starter; wanted to take Tyleik Williams badly here)

76. DT Ty Robinson (Brugler picked Shemar Stewart)

149. CB Zah Frazier (again agreed on the position but not the player; Brugler picked Korie Black)

174. DT Nazir Stackhouse (DE Fadil Diggs; here's where we differed because I valued the big run-stuffer more)

204. DE Antwuan Powell-Ryland (LB Cody Simon)

211. LB Teddye Buchanan (CB/S Jordan Hancock)

217. LB Cody Lindenberg (S Kitan Crawford)

239. CB Alijah Huzzie (G Hayden Conner)

247. QB Kurtis Rourke (OT Jack Nelson)

Mostly a defensive draft after taking two offensive players early. Wanted an OL on the back end, but didn't like any of my choices later. If I hadn't wanted Stackhouse, I would have taken Clay Webb or Luke Kandra if either had made it to 204.

Meant to say I would have taken one of them at 174 if I didn't want Stackhouse. Instead, I lost out on Webb and Kandra before 204.

I like all of your picks better than Brugler's after Golden. I'd be willing to take him if it wasn't at 12.

Re: Lindenburg. I think he goes a tad higher, especially if you listen to his interviews. He's a smart player with a good head on his shoulders. That'll go a long way with some teams.

Huzzie is a really good player and was tearing up the competition at the shrine bowl. However, he ended up tearing his ACL at the shrine bowl and will probably have to red shirt his rookie season in the NFL. I don't think he will be fully healed until the 2026 season.

I can live with it but prefer another 3rd down Back later in the draft like Brashard Smith.

I have aoured on Golden. wouldn't take him at 12.

Love the Judkins pick. I’ve been clamoring for him the past couple of days. 45 TD’s rushing the past 3 years folks. He’s our guy.

I like it.

Ty Robinson would be an ideal 1-2 with Osa in short order, and maybe play next to him in obvious pass rushing sets.

Stackhouse is an ideal name for a big NT, lol. Seems like a plugger at the very least. Wouldn't mind Biggers from GT as well for a 1 tech.

I mean, who knows how players will turn out. I just think Brugler's picks were more random and not focus-centered. I'm more for needs meets value and outside of a few picks, I don't think Brugler's draft focused on that. Of course, he is drafting for every team.

Give me Tyliek Williams at 44 over Judkins all day
Actually solve the 1T problem rather than just throwing picks at it
I understand that. I just have a hard time waiting a round or two to take a running back since all we got in FA are two who underachieved. Yes, it's a deep RB draft, but it's still harder to hit on a position the longer you wait.

I hate that Dallas either forces us to focus on certain needs or ignores certain needs because of how it conducts free agency.

RBs can be taken in rds 3 and 5 both

I have aoured on Golden. wouldn't take him at 12.
I'm not sure why you've soured on him. If anything, the more I read about him, the more I feel confident about him if he's picked. He's an ascending player who has learned to refine his efforts to become better. He's a skilled route-runner, which allows him to use his speed to create separation. He came up big in some big games as last season closed.

I'm not sure he's worth the No. 12 pick and I'd prefer him in a trade-down, but I believe there's a very good chance he becomes a solid starting WR in the NFL. Now, I'd love it if Dallas instead traded the 12th pick to Denver for the 20th pick and Sutton or Pittsburgh for Pickens and the 21st pick and then took the best DT or OL available, but if we stay at 12 and go with Golden, I'm good with that.

They can, but that doesn't assure success. The draft is generally a process of diminishing returns. It's hard enough hitting on a first-round pick, but as it progresses, the hit rate gets worse. The chances of success in the early second round is much higher than the chance of success in the third and fifth rounds combined. (I could post the number of successes compared to failures the past few years at the RB position, but I don't want to look it up again and have posted it before, so it's on here somewhere.)

Now, if we wait until the third, I'd definitely want us to turn around and grab another quickly to improve our chances of success, but when only about 16 percent of fifth-rounders succeed, the odds are against you.

Odds are against you much more with a rd 3 DT than a rd 3 RB

So much positive, negative and scrutiny happens.before.draft. he is definitely one of the better WRs but somebody said he had averaged about 50 yards per game and only one game over 100. He did play a lot of games and that adds up to lot of yards

Frankly I like TMac. He is a bit slower than I want but reminds ds me of Irvin. A possession. WR who can be sneaky going deep. I like him in the 20s as well.

Yes, but we don't necessarily have to absolutely hit on the DT because we have a quality starter in Odighizuwa and first-round NT in Mazi that we're still trying to see if can reach his potential. IMO, if we miss on the RB, then it's last year all over again but even worse because we don't have Dowdle.

I also think the lower value of strict NTs increases the chances of finding one at that point. Usually, those types get pushed back because everyone wants the DTs who can pressure the passer. That is why a Tyleik Williams may be there in the second.

Both NT and RB are positions where the talent may be greater (compared to other positions) than the value. However, I remember a thread that showed that there are only five RBs in this draft considered locks to be starters. I'd like one of those.

Harmon @ 12? Thank God you're not the GM.

I like to try it. Is there anywhere to see the whole draft w/o being a subscriber?

Golden had 100-yard-plus performances in two of his final four games, which included the SEC Championship Game against Florida and the College Football Playoffs.

However, averaging 50 yards per game isn't that atypical, especially since there are multiple factors that can affect yardage. Lamb had just three games over 100 yards last year. He had seven games with 67 yards or less.
