Reduced Free Agency This Year...

have you seen the UFA this year?

It's really not that great of a deal.

Most of these UFA will be washed up by then anyways.

If anything, it rewards the teams that have drafted or will continue to draft well. Instead of 4-5 year contracts and becoming UFA, they turn into RFA and can be kept longer. Also, you can just resign your great draft picks for however much you want.

We could give Ratliff a huge payraise and lock up Austin without any worries.

Hey I'm with ya but if the NFL cant get a deal done I hate the idea of rewarding incompetent owners.

Exactly right.

You've had so many of the mindless on here clapping their hands in unison for an uncapped season...

Well that pie smelled better than how it actually tasted. ;)
Has unchecked spending ever helped buy one for the Commanders?

I can't understand why our fans have wanted this. I don't. Get a CBA done and let's not have a stoppage in 2011.

Yes.

No salary cap would mean no signing bonus pro-ration to account for.

We could cut bait with anyone we want.

But I wouldn't look for it.

We've got a nice team.

There could be a nice little crop of guys getting cut from other teams though. They're still good, they're just cut because they make more than they are worth.

That's the thing.

You can scream "Cut Hamlin" or "Cut Adams" or "Cut Carpenter".

Well, the problem is that they aren't true FA's so you can't go out and sign a FA to replace.

So other than saving Jerreh some money, what are you really gaining?

Then you have to keep in mind that this team only has 6 draft picks as of this moment. That's not going to fill a lot of holes.

i don't think it will reward Snyder.

He's been signing 30 year old washed up FA's for years now.

Well you might have a young player in the wings. like Michael Hamlin, so now you can cut costs by releasing Ken.

Although he's been playing well. I'm just using an example.

What about trades...how does it impact our ability to trade player for player or draft pic and sign to some ridicules contract?

Exactly.

Right now based on the prior history of labor relations in the NFL, not too mention what's gone on in the other major sports...

I'm not feeling confident that there won't be a lockout in 2011.

Mike would replace Sensy

so we don't need to spend a lot of money on him

But then you have to replace Mike Hamlin... And what if you draft a guy who sucks?

Then you're sunk from a depth standpoint.

At this juncture I think Hamlin sticks for another year.

Plus on top of that I'm not confident that Mike Hamlin is a better player than Ken Hamlin quite frankly.

I'd give that less odds than the Cowboys releasing Ken Hamlin.

Sensy is resigned.

Yes, you heard it here first BOB. ;)

Ken Hamlin part 2

btw, why doubt those odds?

they love Mike and he's Sensy's backup

Brilliant...........penalize the teams that built the teams the right way in the salary cap era so that the morons like the skins who circumvented the salary cap and still have nothing to show for it can go on free spending.

Great idea.

:bang2: < whoever had the idea.

This defense is clicking right now, so keeping who we have is not a bad option. Even better if one of the young kids beat them out next year. things are not bad for us going into the capped year if all stays status quo.

I just thought of that South Park episode when Cartman gets revenge on Scott with the Chili.

Who gives a **** about next season by the way? This season we are winning the Super Bowl.

We'd be buffoons, yes buffoons, to release Sensy or Hamlin. Our secondary is the best in the league, imo.

We don't need any FA's, we just need to keep on drafting great and hold on to the talent we currently have and we'll be fine.
