Reeves to Dallas appears to be a done deal

I was just curious for those who might know....even though we aren't sure yet what capacity his "consulting" role will be....

but does anyone know anything about Reeves draft history? meaning was he good at spotting talent, or more importantly spotting the "football players" with good character/leadership qualities?

I think as a consultant he will have a very minor impact.

How long until Lacewell starts playing the jealous ex-girlfriend role?

Please do not mention that imbecile's name again.

Another bug in Jerry's ear

Nine when you count as a player!

And BTW, Galloway was saying this appears to be done, too. He just had on Gil Lebreton who did the Reeves article in the FWST... It almost sounds like he's friends with Dan. Maybe so -- Gil has been around here a long time now.

I don't see how people can say nothing has changed at VR. Two coordinators fired, one high-profile problem player cut, and a very respected consultant brought in. Plus no speaking from Jerry and co.

I thought he retired as a player in 72? If so then he went to two SBs as a player. He was a coach from 74-80 with the Boys going to three more SBs. He took Denver to 3 SBs and the Falcons another winning none of them. He is 2-7 in SBs.

Don't act like you never felt that way...heck you sent me pics.

This means Wade will be looking over his shoulder all of next season.

I'm sure he will have some input, but our scouts have been doing an excellent job and there's no reason to de-emphasize their role.

I dont think Reeves is being brought here because of perceived talent issues, he's being brought here because of poor coaching/lack of discipline issues.

If he gets GM type duties without the title it certainly could help.

I doubt it. If anything he might be looking over his shoulder less now, because IMO he probably had alot of input on Reeves coming here in the first place. The two have coached together twice and are friends.

Nice move.I have a feeling TO is gone.Whether thats good or bad IDK.

oh yeah i didn't mean to imply that he would do more scouting than our scouts, b/c i agree they have found some real gems for us.

i was just curious what his track record was there, just in case he does have some input in that area.

I will make any bet you want that Reeves will never coach the Cowboys.

This move screams Wade and not Jerry.

Reeves hated Jerry for a long time for canning Landry the way it was done.

Wade and Reeves have worked together in multiple cities.

I cant remember if he had final say in Denver or not, but he didnt have final say in NY. He supposedly did have control in Atlanta, but there were several moves Blank made that Reeves objected to (like trading for Peerless Price) so its hard to say. Just going by what the Falcons drafts were like, I'd say not so good.
